HIGHLIGHTS
- Complete and running project car
- Needs extensive restoration
- Last on the road in 2014
- Masses of potential
THE APPEAL
Everyone loves a Mini – and as projects go there aren’t many cars out there that can match the miniature British masterpiece. After all, over four million were sold, so it’s hardly surprising that an entire industry has been built up around their long-term survival.
This one is at the point where it needs some pretty serious action to keep it alive – but fear not. Unlike most cars from the 1990s you can get almost every part, including pre-cut body repair sections, off the shelf, which will make it far easier to fix up than a lesser project for which you’ll need to shape, cut and measure.
It needs work – but the potential is huge and while it might not be cosmetically very pretty, it has quite a few positives, not least the fact it’s a genuine low mileage, low ownership car that’s in astonishingly good running order. You’re not going to drive it home, but you’re going to enjoy getting it back on the road.

SUMMARY
Let’s look at the positives. This is a complete, genuine matching numbers Mini with a proven low mileage, and with a lot of really good bits – the doors are excellent, the front floor is good, the body seams are generally pretty sound, it has a full V5 and it starts, runs sweetly and engages all gears.
If you’re looking to restore a Mini, this one’s a blank canvas – and once you’ve sorted the rear end out you’ll find that the rest is surprisingly straightforward. Make it your own, because the potential is huge.
