THE APPEAL
If you want to know what makes for a strong and durable car, ask a taxi driver or a banger racer. If anyone knows, they will.
In its heyday, the Nissan Bluebird was loved by both. A paragon of reliability and an incredibly sturdy and well-engineered car, it was also one of the most significant cars ever to be made in Britain. The ‘T12’ Bluebird was designed and developed in Japan, but was manufactured for European markets at Nissan’s all-new factory in Washington, Tyne and Wear, following a carefully brokered agreement between the Japanese manufacturer and the UK government and bringing huge employment gains to the North-East.
Unassuming as it may look, then, the Bluebird is a historically important car and one that is now starting to attract a fair bit of collector and enthusiast interest.
This one is a remarkable survivor, having covered just 59,000 miles in 36 years, and is presented in immaculate order.

SUMMARY
In many ways, the Nissan Bluebird is so rare these days because it was such a good car to start off with. So many of them were driven into the ground or went out in a blaze of glory on the oval circuit, leaving very few surviving examples despite the car being so much more long-lived than many of its rivals.
As a result, a survivor as original and charming as this one is a very rare thing. It’s an absolutely gorgeous car presented in beautiful order, ideal for the booming popularity of 1980s and 1990s workaday cars that has really come into vogue of late.
