Highlights
- An extensive restoration in 2016 to an exceptionally high standard
- Very low mileage since restoration
- Original donor car had only covered around 7,500 miles
The Appeal
This exceptional car has been transformed as far as possible into a Cooper S. In 2016 a previous owner carried out an extensive restoration and modification project to create the car we now see today. The brief for the restoration was to create a car that could be comfortably and rapidly driven from the north of England to Vienna in one go and we’d say that brief has been very well met.
With invoices for just about every single part (and there are a lot of them!) and with labour totalling around 1,200 hours we can safely say that this is an exceptional car. The original 1275cc engine has been bored out to 1380cc and fitted with a Swiftune fast road cam, making this little mini an absolutely fantastic car to drive. With an interior befitting of the effort put into the performance side of things this is also an exceptionally comfortable mini that few could rival.
The History and Paperwork
- V5 Present
- MOT until November
- An invoice from 2021 for an extensive check over and service, including oil and filters, a number of new gaskets, new air filter and hose and a number of new dust seals and gaiters
- A comprehensive set of invoices from Mini Sport LTD detailing the new parts used during the restoration
- A selection of other invoices detailing servicing and other work carried out as part of the restoration
The Interior
- Exceptional condition throughout with no signs of wear
- Seats and door cards trimmed in luxuriant Connolly leather with tweed inserts
- Astrali Steering wheel
- Heated front and rear windscreens
Sliding into the deep bucket seat behind the Astrali steering wheel you immediately get a sense that this Mini is something special. The red Connolly leather is complemented by tweed inserts on the seats and doors and the combination looks simply gorgeous.
A modern stereo has been fitted underneath the dash and styled to match the age of the car, but once you hear the engine you won’t want to use it. The seats, dash, headliner, carpet and dials all present beautifully and the level of comfort provided by this Mini is really exceptional.

We think the pictures speak for themselves on this one. Finished in red and in exceptional condition throughout this Mini looks fantastic from any angle. With the dual fuel tank fillers, rally light on the rear and flip down number plate you can see just how comprehensive this restomod has been.

This Mini has covered very few miles since the extensive work carried out in 2016 and as such it is in fantastic mechanical condition, this really is a car that has wanted for nothing. It starts easily, idles smoothly and sounds fantastic.
The owner reports that it drives exactly as it should, which with thanks to the modifications is very well indeed. As can be seen in the images every aspect of this car is finished to a very high standard including both the engine bay and the undersides.
