  • Interesting previous owner
  • Proper English classic
  • MOT and Tax exempt

The Appeal

There are few cars on the road that conjure up nostalgia more than a Morris Minor. Many of you might have fond memories with one of these cars, and when they look this good it is not a surprise.
This example is presented well when you consider that it has just celebrated its 60th birthday. Over the years it has had a few owners, but one sticks out more than most, Jaguar Land Rover Heritage Vehicles.

The History and Paperwork

  • Over this car's life, it has had a few loving owners
  • Thanks to this there is a small collection of paperwork
  • Within this, you’ll find the usual V5 and older MOT certificates
  • There is the current V5 and also one from a previous life
  • Made out to Jaguar Land Rover it appears that this car would’ve part of their collection
  • This V5 is further backed up by a sticker within the driver's door which states JLR Property
  • Along with these, there is also a Heritage Certificate
  • Amongst the invoices present, you’ll find one from 2021 which shows some new brake calipers and handbrake cables
  • In the same year, it also has s new thermostat fitted, a radiator cap, and a couple of radiator hoses
  • This year, in January, there is an invoice for a new clutch, clutch fork, and flywheel
  • There is also an invoice from 2007 which shows some welding being carried out
  • Now it is your time to get behind the wheel of this wonderful classic

The Interior

  • Inside a Morris Minor is very to the point
  • A testament to simple, no-frills motoring it is a very endearing interior
  • A few creature comforts are present such as the Smiths heater
  • There is also a modern radio fitted under the dashboard
  • Looking at the seats we can see that they are presented well
  • Trimmed in red vinyl the front two seats shouldn’t need any work
  • In the rear, there is one slight mark to the vinyl but hopefully, this should be an easy fix
  • Much like the seats, the door cards are finished in the same sort of red vinyl
  • In good condition also, they shouldn’t need any work either
  • Up top, the headliner is in good condition as well
  • To match the seats, and door cards, the carpets are also presented in a nice striking red
  • The dashboard of a Morris Minor is a very simple affair
  • With one large speedometer and a few toggles the only real features
  • At the rear is the section that makes the Traveller, a Traveller
  • A large section for all of your picnic gear
  • Accessed by barn doors it is a big space for all your classic motoring needs

The Exterior

  • Externally the Morris Traveller is an instantly recognisable classic
  • Its bubbly front end and rear wooden section it is a real looker
  • This example is presented in good exterior condition
  • Some areas of wood will need renovating
  • The paintwork across the board is in good condition
  • With a few minor bubbles in places, it does look okay on the whole
  • The wooden section might need some attention though
  • It does look like one of the longer sections on the rear has been replaced
  • On the day of the photoshoot the English weather had come to play and as such the rear barn doors were a little sticky, but this is only expected in the weather
  • You will be getting one great looking car to add to your collection
  • With a little work over the winter, you may even have a show winner

The Mechanics

  • Under the sculpted bonnet, you find a rather familiar BMC engine
  • The 1.1l BMC A-Series looks rather neat indeed
  • Finished in a fetching green paint it is a pretty little engine
  • The engine fitted to this car appears to be in great condition
  • It started up first time on the day of the photos
  • It then pulled forwards and backward into the right spot for the photos
  • Some recent work was carried out to a couple of key components
  • Firstly, the brakes have been overhauled giving you some confidence that it’ll stop
  • Secondly, the clutch has been replaced
  • Both of these jobs can be expensive, so it is great to see they’ve already been completed
  • Another bonus for this car is that, due to its age, it is MOT exempt
  • Getting out on the road with this classic will be a joy that’ll never be forgotten

Summary

What we have here is a lovely little honest classic, with a great little heart upfront and an interesting history. Already an amazing car this little Morris might benefit from a little bit of work, and with a little bit of work, you’ll have a real showstopper.
