The Attractions

Like the British Mini, the great qualities of the Fiat 128 were mainly due to its layout with transverse engine and front-wheel drive. This arrangement meant that almost all of the car's mechanical components were located at the front, making the passenger compartment extremely spacious. This mechanical arrangement also offered great advantages in terms of driveability and handling, as concentrating weight on the driving wheels improved traction and reduced oversteer. For this reason, cars such as the Mini and Fiat 128 proved perfect for racing and achieved excellent results in rallies, where they were able to provide considerable grip on uneven surfaces.

As can be seen in the photographs, this one-owner 128 has been restored and modified to pay homage to the racing/rally cars of the era with a stunning Olio Fiat livery. And the modifications were not limited to aesthetics. Mechanically, the engine has been replaced with a 1,100 cm³ power unit equipped with an oversized carburettor that offers significantly higher performance. This car is also enhanced by many other interesting details, such as a handcrafted sports exhaust system and a set of magnesium alloy wheels.

This 128 is presented in excellent condition and is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
