Ferrari 250 Weber 36DCS Carburetors X3

The Parts

The heart of any Ferrari is, undoubtedly, its engine. It’s the noise, it’s the soul and for many it’s where the attraction toward the car originates. As such, it’s wholly important to look after them, and make sure they’re fitted with the right parts.
Ferrari was quick to realise that Bologna based Weber could supply state-of-the-art carburettors for its competition and road cars and adopted them from the early days, well before they featured under the bonnet of other marques. These Weber carbs are widely acknowledged to be exceptionally well engineered and are a highly sought after part.
In the early 1960s with the launch of the 250 GT Lusso and the later 250 GTE 2+2 cars, Ferrari started using the twin-choke downdraught Weber 36 DCS, of which we have a set of three for sale via this auction.
They are numbered 2041, 2045 and 2100 (or possibly 2180 – the third and fourth digit are not very clear). They appear to be complete and the butterflies open freely. There is no evidence of excessive temperature exposure, no visible cracks or damage and as such, it’s believed that other than needing some fine tuning once fitted to an engine, these carburettors are good to go.
This item is yet another released by a major Ferrari collector and Car & Classic user looking to offer some of their collection back into the enthusiast and specialist market. This is a rare opportunity to acquire stock from one of the most highly regarded collectors in this field, and as such, bidders can be confident in the history, provenance and authenticity of these parts.
