Aston Martin DB5 Front Nose End

Highlights

  • Great potential as an art installation or piece of furniture
  • Produced at Aston Martin’s Newport Pagnell plant under licence for Touring of Milan
  • Aluminium Superleggera design

The Appeal

Ever since it stole the show in the 1964 film ‘Goldfinger’, the Aston Martin DB5 has been amongst the marque’s most celebrated creations.
Here we have an awesome opportunity to acquire perhaps the most recognisable component from an original DB5 - the front end.
Utilising Touring’s Superleggera construction in which aluminium is formed over a tubular frame, this panel exemplifies the way Aston Martins of this vintage were made, and is a fascinating conversation piece.
It certainly has great potential and could become an interesting piece of artwork or furniture. Potentially it could even aid in the restoration of another DB5. Whatever this becomes, we’re sure it will be fantastic.

The Condition

  • Will require refinishing / repainting
  • Largely complete one piece panel
Currently finished in green, the vendor informs us that this front end will require sanding down and repainting in order to exploit its full potential. We’re told that it has been filled in places at some point, so will need tidying up if the next owner’s intention is to return it to an original standard. There are numerous scratches but it is quite straight and complete, being constructed of a single aluminium panel. We are informed that there is a small piece missing to the top of one of the inside edges, which would appear to have been cut out.
We would consider the addition of some lights and perhaps a grille to really finish the piece off, but it is presented for sale as a blank canvas, upon which the next owner can exercise their creativity.

Summary

It isn’t often that the opportunity to acquire such an iconic piece of a legendary car arises. If you fancy displaying something in your home or business that almost nobody else will have, then this is definitely an item you should consider.
