2022 Morgan 3 Wheeler

Please note that the private reg plate "S8 ORM" is not included in the sale

Highlights

  • As new condition with delivery miles
  • A rare opportunity to take on the last Morgan 3-Wheeler to leave the factory
  • Tastefully specified in Grey with red interior and black trim and wheels
  • Superbly engineered and perhaps the most fun to be had on three wheels
  • Just 2,500 built and highly evocative of Morgan’s past

The Appeal

Morgan are perhaps the ultimate in evocative British motoring, with classically styled cars that have maintained a heritage theme since day one. With ash frames and traditional construction, they’re the perfect icon of heritage motoring, while remaining more than capable of keeping up with the modern network.
Morgan originally started all the way back in the Edwardian period with their sporty three-wheelers. In 2011, the company looked back to this classic design, and reintroduced them - with an S&S 1983cc V-twin engine that gave it a plucky persona, one that immediately garnered quite a following. 2,500 three-wheelers were built, up until 2021, when production came to a halt.
It’s here where this car’s story begins. Certified by the company, with a photograph of the men who built it, this Three-wheeler is the very last one to roll out of Malvern, and has only done 42 miles since sale.
Put simply, this is an essential piece of Morgan history - and one that’ll excite any enthusiast.

  • 3 Wheeler production ended in late 2021
  • Paperwork and photography act as proof that this was the final 3-Wheeler
  • Sale will include a letter from Morgan confirming last unit to leave the factory together with a picture signed by all the engineers who built it
  • 2 keys
  • Build number 105235
  • MOT exempt until 10th January 2025
  • Morgan press release and handbooks included
  • V5 in seller’s name
  • Private Reg not included in sale

The Interior

  • Evocative hand-crafted interior cleverly combines traditional touches with modern conveniences
  • Neat touches designed to reference fighter aircraft, like the starter button under a protective shroud
  • Exceptional, unused condition reflects the diminutive mileage
  • Stylish quilted red leather seats with black stitching
  • Two slim seats
  • Armrests in matching quilted red leather
  • Gorgeous wire-spoked steering wheel recalls the pre-war Morgan 3 Wheelers
  • Aluminium switchgear in very good condition
  • Heated seats
  • Inertia reel seatbelts
The joy of the 3 Wheeler is that when it is not being driven it is just as rewarding. The small, simply styled cockpit is a visual feast, a mix of clever references to Morgan’s pre-war 3-Wheelers and an exhibit of hand-crafted skills. Interesting details abound, like the shrouded starter button that recalls those fitted to fighter aircraft.
Of course, all of these attributes are equally thrilling when the car is also being driven.
The specification of this car adds to the effect, the bright red quilted leather complementing the grey bodywork that abuts it. The slim seats appear to be heated but that is really the only concession to modern convenience. It is all in superb condition because this car only has delivery miles and a testament to the exacting standards of Morgan’s craftsmen.
For lovers of finely designed car interiors, there can be few that quite match this 3 Wheeler’s.

The Exterior

  • Hand-crafted aluminium bodywork with attractive grey paintwork
  • Small aero screens
  • Chrome roll hoop and rear luggage carrier
  • PPF applied from new
  • Contrasting black mudguards and black spoked wheels
  • Purposeful V-twin engine upfront with chrome detailing
  • Twin exit exhausts
There is no mistaking a Morgan 3-Wheeler. While there are clear antecedents of the firm’s pre-war models, this is no slavish copy. Longer and altogether more purposeful, Morgan wanted to evoke something of Britain’s illustrious wartime fighter planes with the new car and the grey paintwork of this example certainly leans into that aesthetic.
The S&S V-Twin sits proudly up front, chrome embellishments enhancing the look and nicely contrasting on this model with the black mudguards and wheels. It has been cleverly and tastefully specified and seems to offer new surprise and delight features each time you look at it.
As you would expect from a vehicle with delivery miles it is in exceptional condition. We could find no evidence of use across the plethora of beautiful features.

The Mechanics

  • S&S 1,983cc OHV V-Twin American motorcycle engine
  • 5spd Mazda MX5 gearbox
  • Superb power to weight ratio delivers 0-60mph in under 6secs
  • 525kg delivers 159bhp/tonne
  • 82bhp
The original pre-war Morgans were designed as inexpensive runabouts intended to get around road tax rules. But owners quickly realised their potential and they quickly gained a reputation as highly entertaining and rewarding drivers’ vehicles.
The modern version sets its stall out firmly in the latter camp. Equipped with a 2litre V-Twin motorcycle engine from S&S, famed American builders of engines for Harley Davidson frames amongst others, the lightweight 3-Wheeler makes up for its relatively low power with a remarkable 159bhp/tonne. This is enough to propel the no-doubt grinning occupants to 60mph in under 6secs. Power is delivered via a 5spd Mazda MX5 gearbox.
This 18 month old 3-Wheeler only has delivery miles on the clock and is not required to be MOT tested until 2025 so we cannot share any information from service history or DVLA records.

Summary

Morgan’s 3-Wheeler showed that less can be most definitely more. Lauded by motoring journalists and quickly sold out, it is surely one of the most unusual and rewarding British sports cars of the last 20 years.
If the multifold delights of these wonderful vehicles haven’t already drawn you in then this car’s unique status as the last 3-Wheeler to leave the factory surely will. Magnificently presented in grey with red interior and black highlights, it looks simply stunning.
