The Appeal
“Doors are massively overrated. Yes, they keep out the weather and the noise when you are travelling at speed, but they also isolate you from the world and its beauty.” - Jeremy Clarkson, Top Gear Magazine
We can’t help but agree with Mr Clarkson on that one. The more connected you are with the outside world while driving, the more fun you’re having. And it really doesn’t get much more open-aired than a Mini Moke.
56 years after the Alec Issignis designed Moke was originally launched, the name was revived by a company called Moke International LTD, bringing the classic design right up-to-date with the fitment of a modern petrol drivetrain and even the introduction of an EV model! As you can see, the Moke’s classic looks remain, ensuring the driving experience is suitably retro. However, you no longer have to contend with carburettors, graunchy gearboxes and the like. No, this 2022 example has a 1,086cc fuel-injected DOHC 16v engine, mated to a super-smooth four-speed automatic gearbox.
It’s covered just 544 miles, so is practically showroom-fresh and in superb overall condition. If you’re looking for a car that’ll always make you smile, this has to be a pretty serious contender.
