The Appeal

McLaren made their mark at the 24 Hours of Le Mans quickly. It was their first-ever entry to the legendary endurance event - and while ambitions were riding high, the weather had no intent of collaborating. The heavens opened only an hour into the race and stuck around overnight, straight through to morning. It was, as a result, one of the most challenging races in the event's illustrious history.

If it was meant to be troublesome, though, nobody gave the memo to McLaren. They absolutely dominated the competition, with four of its F1 GTR cars finishing in the top five. It was one of the defining moments in motorsport—the stuff legends are built from—and it's little wonder that, 25 years later, the Special Operations Department at McLaren HQ got to work on marking the event in style.

The result was the Senna LM, a limited edition of only 20 units to mark the legendary victory. Using the already high-octane Senna as a base—itself named after racing royalty—the LM rolled out with accents and components from the GTR, creating a true race-ready aesthetic and modifications to increase engine power. The result was a hypercar that proudly sat between an imposing competition animal and a well-specified, hyper-luxurious sports car for the truly discerning motorist—a connoisseur's car, if ever there was one.

The Senna LM's limited edition meant a very unusual distribution of numbers. 5 of them went to a single Floridian collector, the only ones for the US market, while only 7 were built in right-hand drive. It's a real unicorn - one of those cars you're not likely to see in the flesh, let alone get a chance to own.

This remarkable example of a truly remarkable car has covered only 74km and has spent its life as part of the Netherlands' premier hypercar collection. As a result, its condition is almost beyond words. Aggressive, imposing, and brightly presented, the McLaren Senna LM is no regular car. A walk around that beautifully sculpted body is simply breathtaking, all picked out in an exclusive livery that's contrasted by ample doses of glass black carbon fibre. This incredible example has been cosseted and pampered like the thoroughbred it is, lacking any signs of wear, corrosion or cracking to all of its extremities.

The company really pushed the boat out with this edition. Note the heritage badging, the etched scripting, the special racing rims and the dark, tinted glass, all of which capture the eye and stir the soul in a very real, very tangible way. It's a primed machine for racing too - that big, adjustable double rear spoiler is loaded with adjustable settings and works in partnership with the double diffuser and the F1-inspired roof scoop to provide enormous levels of downforce, keeping the car glued to the road no matter the speedometer reading.

While the car has been intended to stir the soul of the performance-led racer while maintaining its lightweight, high-octane formula, don't take that as meaning a lack of features. Via clever engineering, miracles are possible—and the LM is full of them. A top-notch sound system, adjustable seats and steering, full air conditioning, and three-camera Track Telemetry equipment are all available for the driver's disposal, creating a comfortable, laid-back, and impeccably capable environment.

It has all the mod cons, features, and equipment you'd hope for from a luxurious supercar. This one looks practically untouched, with everything working as it should and free of rips or tears. We're convinced there isn't a driver in the world who wouldn't feel right at home here.

Nestled in the rear is a truly primed twin-turbocharged V8 powerplant that offers a simply ridiculous 814hp, built by the much-respected Ricardo PLC of Shoreham-by-the-Sea.

It's a truly defined machine - one that's incredibly potent and capable of capturing just about any motorist, no matter how jaded. This example's low mileage and beautifully kept condition mean that we're facing a practically brand-new car. We've no reports of any mechanical issues, no matter how minor.
