The Appeal
The new Defender had some big boots to fill with the original being widely regarded as one of the most practical vehicles ever built. But the consensus is that the new Defender has hit the mark perfectly, they offer an even higher level of off road performance and now it’s combined with a fantastic, refined on road driving experience and thoroughly modern tech, and that’s without even mentioning how good they look.
This Defender 110 has benefitted from a host of cosmetic upgrades by the current owner and looks simply fantastic. With the addition of many new black body parts on the original Tasman blue combined with the big alloy wheels and light bar on the roof it’s a perfectly styled and unique Defender 110. With just a shade over 40,000 miles on the clock it presents very well throughout and with a fresh MOT and just having been serviced it’s ready to drive away and enjoy.

Climbing up into the driver's seat of the Defender you still get that sense of go anywhere capability and wide ranging utility they are known for, but now with a much more refined and comfortable interior that offers all of the above whilst also managing to look good. From the black and white leather wrapped steering wheel to the multi function touch screen display, the interior of this Defender is modern and well equipped.
The heated half-leather seats are comfortable and in good condition with some light signs of wear visible. The door cards, centre console, trim and headlining all present very well with only minimal signs of use visible. The digital dashboard is bright and clear and the steering wheel controls are all in excellent condition. The car features 360 degree parking cameras on top of the usual sat nav and entertainment features, all of which work perfectly.
The Exterior
- Very good condition throughout
- Tastefully customised by the current owner
- Black pack - colour coded black bonnet with Defender lettering, chequer plate, wide wheel arches, lower door panels, wing mirrors, rear spoiler, front grille, bumpers and side steps
- LED roof lights
- Tow bar
- 22 Inch Land rover alloy wheels in black
The new Defender certainly looks the part, it’s got the rugged aesthetics of the original but now with a whole heap more style. The Defender is an undeniably good looking car as standard, but we think this one must be one of the best. The current owner has undertaken extensive reworking of the styling adding in wider arches, roof lights, bigger alloy wheels and tinting the windows as well as colouring large parts of the car black to create a fantastic looking Land Rover that attracts attention for all the right reasons.
The exterior is in very good condition overall with some light marks from use as to be expected. All of the black 22 inch Land Rover alloys present superbly and really add to the overall impact this Defender makes.
The Mechanics
- Superb 2L 237bhp Ingenium engine
- Engine, engine bay and underside all in excellent condition
- Starts easily and idles smoothly
- The owner informs us that the car drives as new
- MOT to January 2024
The Defender features a Land Rovers Ingenium engine that is a huge step up over the previous generations with a whole host of innovative design features that allow the relatively small diesel to pack a big punch. Married to an advanced eight-speed automatic box, that never leaves you waiting for a shit or wanting to reach for manual controls, and it produces a car that is equally at home on the road as it is fording a river on a side of a mountain.
As with the rest of this car the mechanical aspects present superbly and as can be seen in the image of its service history it has just had its 42,000 mile scheduled service. The owner informs us that it drives perfectly, accelerating very well, shifting through all eight gears fast and smooth and stopping quickly in a straight line.
Summary
The new Defender managed to pull off what everyone had hoped for, but many had doubted; it kept the full off-road pedigree of its predecessors and managed to combine it with a modern and refined on-road driving experience to make a very well rounded car that excels both on and off road.
This is a fantastic example of the Defender with exceptional good looks, just serviced and MOT’d and in very good condition throughout. One not to be missed.
