The Appeal
“A car that seems sculpted by the wind. It is the purity of the styling elements that impresses–an aesthetic that is futuristic but, at the same time, a respectful yet un-nostalgic homage to the past.”
That’s how Ferrari describes its Monza – a limited run of special cars based on the 812 Superfast, built to honour Ferrari’s barchetta-bodied racers of the 1950s. The Monza evokes those exciting and perilous days of the great Italian road races like the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio with its open cockpit and lack of windscreen; it really is unlike anything else on the road today.
The Monza was offered exclusively to Ferrari’s most loyal and exclusive customers, who could choose between the single-seater SP1 and dual-seat SP2. Most buyers opted for the latter car, meaning of the 499 Monzas sold, only an estimated 129 examples were the lighter SP1.
Car & Classic is honoured to bring this exceptional Monza SP1 to market. The car has had just one registered keeper, taking its place among a large private collection of limited edition Ferraris. The car has covered just 140 kilometres and the vendor considers it to still be in “new” condition. Naturally, the SP1 benefits from full Ferrari service history, with the latest service performed in December 2024. A new two-year Ferrari warranty will also be provided for the new keeper.
Seldom does a Ferrari Monza become available to buy, especially the far rarer SP1 model. Offered in Concours standard factory-fresh condition with minuscule mileage and all its original accessories, this Ferrari is fit to grace the grandest of collections.
The History and Paperwork
- 140 kilometres from new; barely more than delivery mileage
- One registered keeper and the original documents from the first owner are available
- Full-service history exclusively at Ferrari dealers
- Last service completed in December 2024
- A new two-year Ferrari warranty will be included for the new owner
- Certificates: Comes with a Certificate of Conformity (CoC)
- The car is currently registered as a German EU car, and all taxes and import duties have been paid
Exact production numbers are shrouded in mystery; perhaps Ferrari prefers to remain aloof. In any case, it is generally agreed that 499 Monzas were sold, of which just 129 were the single-seater SP1 model. The sole registered keeper of this example is a Ferrari collector of some note, with numerous special edition Ferraris in their collection.
The full complement of factory accessories include:
- Bespoke helmet, overalls, clothing, hats, gloves, luggage and glasses
- Service book and all vehicle manuals
- Three car covers
- Both sets of keys, complete with presentation box
The Condition
- We’re assured that the Ferrari is ‘as new’ with no notable indications of use
- No PPF applied to the factory paint scheme
- Always kept in a heated private garage under a bespoke cover
To all intents and purposes, this is a brand new Monza SP1. As the photographs attest, the car is beautifully presented and exhibits no indication of use, in line with the minuscule mileage and the fact it’s been stored in a heated facility from day one.

The Mechanics
- 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12
- Power: 809 hp
- Torque: 530 lb-ft
- Top Speed: 186 mph
- Acceleration: 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds
- Suspension lifter optioned from new
While both SP1 and SP2 share the same mechanical underpinnings, the single-seater SP1 is almost 23 kilograms lighter than its two-seater SP2 counterpart. The privileged few who’ve been lucky enough to drive one say the Monza is raw, viscerally quick and delivers a true assault on the senses that you certainly won’t forget in a hurry.
Despite having seldom turned a wheel since 2020, servicing has been kept up-to-date on this example, with the most recent maintenance performed by a Ferrari agent in December 2024. We’re assured that the Ferrari runs and drives exactly as it did from the factory, with no issues to report following the most recent service.
For those seeking the ultimate Maranello has to offer, we’re delighted to oblige with this exceedingly special Monza SP1.
