2018 JBA Falcon Tourer

Highlights

  • Only 1,119 miles since professionally coachbuilt
  • High quality and luxurious handbuilt Morgan alternative
  • Reliable 1.9L BMW running gear
  • Over £10,000 of improvements invested in 2021
  • Very rare and well regarded 30s-style roadster

The Appeal

In 2011 JBA launched the Falcon, an update of its well regarded Falcon Roadster, but this time based around thoroughly modern BMW running gear. These very rare cars are popular in enthusiast circles for their engineering and high quality.
This one was built in 2018 by specialist coachbuilder J Watson and has covered only 1,119 miles since. That sparing use hasn’t held up the investment - in 2021 over £10,000 was invested across body repairs, wheel refurbishment and a tasty host of electrical and trim upgrades. These includes an alarm, camera system, heated leather seats, high end audio system and retrimmed console. It certainly runs a contemporary Morgan hard for quality and luxury.
With just a couple of hundred miles covered since that work, it presents very well. The lovely burgundy fibreglass body work is well finished and the chrome detailing is delightful. The updated cabin looks showroom-fresh.
The dependable BMW running gear includes a 1.9litre petrol engine. It endows the car with decent handling and performance, certainly enough to surprise those expecting a 1930s sports car.
