The Appeal
The Land Rover Defender is a truly iconic vehicle, adored for its off-road capabilities and utilitarian nature. Taking inspiration from the American Willy's Jeep, these boxy offer-roaders have been in production in one form or another from 1983 to today, and continue to prove themselves in all manner of environments.
In 2016, however, the Defender as we knew it ended production - making way for its successor, the L663. The final one rolled off of the line on the 29th of January, 2016, to much enthusiast fanfare and a legion of mourning fans. It was on this day that this car was first registered - giving this rather marvellous example a unique spot of trivia. With plenty of tasteful and functional upgrades, and a highly striking trim, this final-year example is a great ambassador for over 30 years of history.
