The Appeal

The F-Type quickly became a staple for Jaguar, bringing floods of success for the marque with a whopping 75% of buyers being brand new customers of the Jaguar brand, its beautiful lines and craftsmanship in a time of otherwise boring automobiles made for the perfect sports coupe for the masses. A spiritual successor of the legendary E-Type, perhaps - those are some pretty big shoes to fill.
This particular example is presented in lovely specification with a full main dealer service history from new, with admirable low miles.

Of course, the interior of the Jag is a lovely place to be as you would expect, filled with all of the usual modern conveniences you’d want from an opulent sports car. Thanks to careful ownership too, it has been preserved to a wonderful standard, making you feel like you’re stepping into a brand new car.
Opening the drivers side door and stepping in, you’re immediately welcomed with a handsome leather and Alcantara upholstery on the seats which is presented beautifully with no apparent signs of any damage, and the leather bolsters on the sides of the seats also appear to be free from the usual burst stitching and wear. There is of course the gentle hint of use, but nothing we’re able to shout about. Directly ahead of you, the steering wheel is well presented with no signs of any damage and the stitching fully intact, there are just gentle tell-tale signs of use as to be expected of leather. Behind the steering wheel, the gauges and digital display all function perfectly, showing no unwelcome warning signs or lights present.
Moving across to the centre console, the multimedia screen remains entirely functional with a plethora of settings and options, the lower control panel underneath with the air settings as well as the other miscellaneous setting buttons all remain working and easy for anyone to read.
Both door cards are very well kept, showing no shoe scuffs that we’re able to spot - all of the leather remains supple and soft, and the electronic seat controls mounted in front of the door handles still function properly as they should. This example is fitted with a base stereo system, however that doesn’t equate to bad quality - it’s actually one of the better standard sound systems out there retaining a good level of volume and quality.
Floor carpets are present with only minor signs of use and no damage, and the vehicles headlining in the convertible top appears damage free too. The convertible top still functions flawlessly with no unusual noises and appears to function pretty quick too. Once the top is down, you get a better look at the roll bars fitted in behind the head rests.
In the boot, the story remains the same with well kept carpets with no signs of damage. Overall, the interior of this Jaguar is a lovely place to be, you won’t be wanting to get out in a hurry.

The Exterior

  • Polaris white paintwork
  • 18″ Staggered Anthracite alloy wheels
  • No visible corrosion
  • Bodywork straight and true with good panel gaps
  • Soft-top well maintained
  • Highly polished exhaust tips
  • Bi Xenon Headlamps
  • Active rear spoiler
  • Electric Roof
  • Silver Callipers
  • Satin chrome roll hoops
Even if you’re not a Jaguar fan, you can’t disagree that the F-Type isn’t a handsome looking car. The sales numbers are proof of that - putting much more than just their typical fanbase into the gorgeous roadster. In a time where there aren't many options for 2-seater open top sports cars, the F-Type was a welcome addition to Jaguar's line-up, and hasn’t aged a day since release.
Starting at the front, the paintwork appears in good condition with only the usual stone chips here and there, but no damage outside of this. Both headlights are free from any nasty chips or scratches, and all of the panel gaps up front appear to line up properly as they would from the factory which is a good sign too.
Around to the side, again the paintwork is lovely and well kept, body panels appear to be straight and true with good panel gaps again. The wheels are in good shape with only a couple of small stone chips in the paint, but you have to be up close and personal to spot them - all wheels appear to be shod in good tyres with plenty of tread too.
The story remains the same to the rear of the F-Type, paintwork seemingly in great condition, and the rear lights are free from any damage. The lower diffuser is  also in good condition with no apparent damage, and the two polished central exhaust tips are another handsome feature that’s sure to catch the eye of anyone that's lucky enough to be caught behind.
The retractable soft top appears to be in great condition with no rips or tears, all of the stitching remains intact, just your usual crease lines from being folded away to let the wind through your hair.

The Mechanics

  • 3.0-Litre supercharged V6 petrol engine
  • 8-speed automatic transmission
  • Stop/Start technology
  • Rear-wheel drive configuration
  • 340 BHP
  • Full main dealer service history
  • Active Sport Exhaust
  • TPM Performance Brakes Package
Don’t let the fact that this is one of the “slower” F-Types out you off - that front mounted supercharged V6 is absolutely no slouch by any means. Of course, it’s no SVR, but realistically that much more power than most people can handle - and it gets to a point where the car becomes somewhat unusable and wasted. Not here however. You’re able to use a good 90% of the power when you want to, allowing you to breeze past most other cars on the roads. It’s becoming a more common thought that 300BHP is a “normal” power figure, but really, it just isn’t, and that doesn’t make it any less fun.
This example features a complete main dealer service history from new, which shows that the owner had no care for expenditure, they just wanted to ensure that the car was seen to as thoroughly and as properly as possible. Commendable. The engine is reported to start-up with no problems, idle smooth and produce a nice linear power output thanks to the supercharger. The gearbox appears to be in good health, quickly jumping between gears as it needs to but also allowing the driver to take full control with its flappy paddles behind the steering wheel, getting you much more involved when the mood calls for it.
Steering remains lovely and precise and isn’t too much of a workout on the arms, and the braking is reported to remain powerful with no unwelcome screeching present. Mechanically well sorted it seems!

Summary

One of Jaguar's finer modern automobiles, the F-Type still turns heads and grabs attention after a whole decade of them being on the roads - a testament to how beautiful they are, really.
If you’re on the lookout for a summer cruiser, or just want to travel sound in opulence without your friends asking for a ride everywhere all the time, you really don’t have to look much further than this. A fantastic addition to anyone's driveway that’s sure to have you grinning from ear to ear in no time.
