2015 Bentley Flying Spur

Highlights

  • 500bhp V8 engine
  • Smart Granite paintwork
  • Hand stitched leather interior

The Appeal

The four-door Bentley Flying Spur has always been about providing the maximum luxury to all its passengers. It manages to deploy its 500bhp in an effortlessly assertive manner, without being brash or over the top.
This particular example looks very suave in its smart Granite paintwork, with tastefully applied chrome trim and excellent alloy wheels. The car was ordered new with a long list of options which pushed the original purchase price to over £140,000.
It remains in excellent order inside and out, with beautiful quilted leather and undamaged paintwork. This Flying Spur is perhaps the ultimate way to carry four passengers in style.

The Interior

  • Beautiful beige leather interior with contrasting stitching
  • Veneered picnic tables with integrated vanity mirrors
  • All interior features said to be functioning correctly
As you would expect from any Bentley, opening the door reveals a world of opulence and comfort. Everything is expertly crafted and finely finished, with high quality materials being employed to the original owner’s exacting specification.
The leather seats are beautifully presented, with their diamond stitching and perforated panels to allow for ventilation, keeping their occupants cool on hot days. There is only a little evidence of use showing in the pale leather, and the Bentley emblems stitched into the headrests finish them off very well. All four seats, front and rear, are electrically adjustable and all benefit from ventilation.
Up above, there is a tinted sunroof and the headlining is clean and secure. The door cards continue the quilted leather motif and are in excellent condition. Their piano black cappings echo that used on the dashboard and centre console. This contrasts perfectly with the few splashes of chrome used sparingly throughout the cabin.
All the features are said to be in fully functioning order including the multi-function steering wheel, rear view camera, and electrically operated rear blinds. And the cavernous rear boot is neatly carpeted. It holds a Bentley branded umbrella, and below the floor is a space saver spare wheel.

The Exterior

  • ‘Granite’ paintwork in excellent condition
  • Unmarked alloy wheels
  • Very clean and tidy underneath
The Granite paintwork (code K6SCO) suits the car very well, and gives it a smart appearance. It exhibits a deep shine and appears to be in excellent condition throughout. There are almost no scratches or chips that we could see, even on the wing mirrors and wheel arches.
The external trim is beautifully restrained, limiting the chrome plating to the radiator grille, headlamp and window surrounds, and a few other flashes. And while the term ‘discreet’ has probably never been used in relation to a Bentley, it certainly isn’t over the top.
Underneath, from what we could see, the car looks to have lived an easy life, with no signs of damage or corrosion that we could see. The alloy wheels are in particularly good condition, we could see no grazing or scratches at all, and they are shod in a set of Pirelli P Zero tyres.

The Mechanics

  • Four-litre V8 engine produces 500bhp
  • Automatic transmission
  • Engine bay clean and tidy
There’s nothing quite like having 500 V8 horses on tap, ready to go with the slightest movement of your right foot. The ZF eight-speed transmission is ready to serve up the correct gear whenever you need it, and deploy the power for maximum effect.
Lifting the sizeable bonnet reveals a well kept engine bay with proudly placed cast aluminium plaques bearing the Bentley emblem and declaring the engine to be a 4.0 litre V8.  It certainly is a thing of exquisite mechanical beauty.
The vendor informs us that the car starts and drives as it should, with no reported leaks or smoke. The only minor fault, is that recently one of the headlight bulbs occasionally gets intermittent - which the seller will have it looked if possible before the auction ends.

Summary

An extremely luxurious way to enjoy 500hp in style.
