The Appeal
There are not many manufacturers that carry on a legendary evolution of their vehicles, but Volkswagen has not only carried over the heritage of their Transporter but provided leaps with every successive generation in terms of size, comfort, performance and practicality. Arguably the previous generation leaned on their van roots a little too much for some, but the fifth generation of Transporters, drives and handles like a regular family car. Fulfilling their ability to provide for the needs of the family as well as commercial applications, the T5 has something for everyone. Based on the T5 platform the medium-weight T30 models offer the best of both worlds, offering the practicality of an opening tailgate, sliding door and a rear bench seat to accommodate three people.
This well-presented 2013 deep black pearl (LC9X) facelift T30 version of the SWB in Highline trim is powered by the revised high-efficiency 140bhp TDI common rail diesel engine. Kitted with 5 seats, a Fiamma canopy awning and tent, it has excellent documentation of service history and a recent bill for £4,000 which covered a new crankshaft sensor, belt/tensioner and front disc/pads. It also boasts a mileage of just 66,866, two keys and an MOT to November 2023.
