THE APPEAL
The third and final generation of the Mercedes-Benz SLK was introduced in 2011 and brought with it a range of innovations including a more advanced version of the original model’s VarioRoof folding hardtop, and a range of new engines and transmissions.
Among them were a new hyper-efficient derivative of the SLK - the 250 CDI - which came with a 2.2-litre common rail diesel engine and a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed G-TRONIC automatic transmission.
Dubbed the BlueEfficiency range and designed in particular to appeal to fleet motorists, they were also popular with private buyers thanks to their 55-60 MPG capability and the advanced refinement of Mercedes-Benz’s diesel engine range.
This example is a 2013 SLK C50 CDI BlueEfficiency equipped with the company's advance 7 G-TRONIC transmission, making it the perfect companion for high-speed cruising as well as urban motoring. It's a really smart example that’s had just two owners from new and, unlike many 10 year old diesel cars, has covered an impressively low mileage of just 41,510 miles from new.
Finished in one of the most popular colours of Magnetite Black, it's an extremely smart-looking coupe cabriolet and it comes with a full Mercedes-Benz service and independent service history, showing a lifetime of care and attention.
It's an ideal choice of practical, usable and efficient modern classic.
