The Appeal
For its first independently-designed new car in 80 years, Bentley pulled out the organ stops. The Mulsanne, named after that long straight where those Bentley Boys reigned supreme, dialled everything up to 11. Ultimate bespoke luxury, ultimate 505bhp performance.
For those seeking a little extra there was the £13,410 Mulliner Driving Specification package, which pushed this rarified car past the quarter of a million pounds barrier. Radiance wheels, bespoke quilted interior and sports-tuned suspension and steering marked these cars out.
This ‘MDS’ is an exceptional example. For starters, there is the mileage of just 24,133. It is fully documented by the history file and supported by a full run of 11 service stamps by main dealers and specialists up to May 2024.
Then there is the colour scheme, a mix of Hallmark Silver metallic with Beluga coach line - a £625 option alone - and Linen quilted leather interior with Beluga piping and fittings. It is all, as you might expect of a fastidiously maintained, but sparingly used car, in exquisite condition. The factory specification extends well beyond the MDS features to make this one of the best equipped Mulsannes to reach the market in recent times.
This Mulsanne is the pinnacle of luxury motoring and this example is surely the pinnacle of Mulsanne purchases.
The vendor tells us:
“The condition of this Bentley is exemplary and the ride quality is sublime, matched with its powerful 6.7 litre engine, it makes for a wonderful grand touring saloon.
“The car comes with full service history by Bentley and more recently by renowned Bentley specialists.
The vehicle will be supplied with a brand new MOT and underwent a full service of nearly £2k in May and has only covered 1314 miles since.”

If you can imagine it in a car, then chances are this beautifully preserved low mileage Mulsanne has it. The vendor tells us that in addition to the bespoke Mulliner Driving Specification - which you can read about above- the car was factory supplied with every available option. Certainly, looking at the array of entertainment and comfort features you would have to agree. There are picnic tables, cushions, umbrellas, entertainment screens and vanity mirrors to name but a few.
The condition as you would expect of such a carefully maintained, low mileage Bentley, is close to immaculate. The Hallmark paintwork and linen leather is one of the most popular combinations for these cars and it betrays few signs - if any - of use. If we are being extra picky - and we try to be transparent for you - the Radiance 21in alloys betray the very slightest signs of tarnish, but it is minor and could be easily remedied. That aside, this is one truly magnificent car.
The Mechanics
- 6,750cc twin turbo hand-built V8 delivering 505bhp
- 8spd automatic gearbox with sequential shift functionality
- Variable cam phasing and cylinder de-activation for improved economy
- Full service history with 11 stamps by main dealers and specialists
- Last serviced in May 2024 and few miles covered since
- No reported running or driving issues
- Car will be sold with fresh 12 months MOT
- Current MOT to January 2025 contains no advisories
It was entirely fitting that Bentley named its first fully in-house new car for 80 years after the era in which the firm made its name. The Bentley Boys cemented the firm’s reputation by throwing caution to the wind and barrelling down the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans. This car, with its 505bhp twin-turbo 6.75L V8, would be right at home there.
The 6.75L V8 may not have been new when it dropped beneath the bonnet of the Mulsanne, but the technology around it was. Alongside the twin turbos there is a clever cylinder deactivation system and variable cam phasing that makes it surprisingly economical for such a big car. The motor is mated to an advanced DSG 8spd gearbox that deliver imperceptible changes with the option of some manual input if progress demands it.
This very low mileage car may have been sparingly used by its handful of keepers, but they have not skimped on the servicing. It has visited Bentley main dealer and specialist centres 11 times during its life, most recently in May 2024. The car has covered few miles since that most recent work.
The current MOT runs to January 2025 with no advisories but the vendor will usefully put a full 12 months ticket on the car before sale. It arrives on the market with a glowing review by the current keeper - which you can read above and clearly wanting for nothing from the buyer.
