The Appeal
Lets spare a moment for Porsche’s engineering team. Unlike the design team, which has the easy task of lightly fettling an iconic shape, those involved with the oily bits face a tough task. How do you improve on a car whose every new version has to be better than the one before?
With the 991, they pulled it out of the bag. Widely rated as one of the best of the many 911 generations, the new car was lighter - thanks to lots of aluminium - and therefore more agile and nimble. It was more comfortable too, with steering better suited for long motorway drives. Naturally, it was quicker too.
This 3.4L Carrera is a chance to discover all that with a well specified and maintained car. From the factory it was finished in ‘double black’ with a high specification including desirable options like Sport Chrono and the clever PDK gearbox.
In the intervening 12 years it has been looked after, a continuous run of service stamps by main dealers and specialists accompanied by a raft of invoices.
