The Appeal
Making its debut in 2010, the GranCabrio was a supremely stylish and luxurious open top grand tourer from Maserati, featuring at its heart a fabulous 4.7-litre Ferrari-built V8. Large enough to comfortably accommodate up to four adults, the GranCabrio is a perfect blend of gorgeous Italian design, impeccable build quality and tremendous performance.
Undoubtedly the jewel in the GranCabrio’s crown, its naturally aspirated V8 has to be a serious contender for one of the best sounding engines ever. Roof up or down, out on the road the Maserati’s exhaust note is pure aural joy, stirring the soul with every tuneful crescendo evoked by the slightest action of your right foot.
Presented here in the stunning shade Grigio Granito, this low mileage 2012 example has covered just 40,100 miles in its 11 years and comes with an excellent service history.
Fast, beautiful and with an unbeatable soundtrack, the Maserati GranCabrio truly offers open-top GT motoring in a league of its own.

The Interior
- Gorgeous light cream leather interior with dark contrast stitching
- Large interior cabin capable of seating four adults in comfort
- Superb condition throughout, commensurate with low mileage
Decked out in a soft and supple cream leather with dark contrast stitching, from the moment you step inside the GranCabrio there can be no doubt that this truly is a luxury offering.
Presented in a lovely two-tone colour scheme, the cabin of the Maserati manages to successfully integrate plenty of technology and equipment whilst still maintaining a focus on style and quality.
Featuring ample equipment, this particular GranCabrio comes with a Bose sound system, satellite navigation, electronic seat adjustment, dual zone climate control, telephone integration, parking sensors and adjustable driving modes.
In terms of condition, the interior of this GranCabrio is totally commensurate with its low mileage, with the only indicator of age really being some subtle creasing on the cream leather seats. Otherwise, the rest of the interior presents very well indeed and the usual high-traffic touch points all appear to be in a great condition.
Owing to its shared heritage with the Quattroporte, the GranCabrio is one of those rare open top GT cars that can truly offer comfortable seating for up to four adults. Longer than the Bentley Continental GTC even, here in the Maserati the rear occupants enjoy a generous amount of leg room and can experience their journey from the comfort of individually sculptured rear seats.
The Exterior
- Attractive Grigio Granito example presenting in an all-round excellent condition
- Large powered hood in sophisticated black and allowing roof operation up to a speed of 19 MPH
- Complemented by a set of handsome 20-inch alloy wheels in a trident style
Sitting with great poise on a lovely set of 20-inch alloy wheels and wearing a fabulous coat of Grigio Granito, there is no doubt that the GranCabrio is a masterful piece of design.
Shark-like in appearance and profile, the Maserati GranCabrio does not have one bad angle and, whether the roof is up or down, its perfect proportions leave no doubt that this is a performance GT.
Having covered only 40,100 miles during its life, this particular example presents very nicely indeed, with the only notable areas of imperfection being some frontal stone chipping and a small area of paint loss over the driver’s door edge. Looking around the rest of the vehicle however, the body panels all appear very straight and without any visible paintwork blemishes of significance.
Looking at the large soft top hood, this also appears to present well and, featuring 3 layers of material, once raised creates a cosy and cossetted feeling inside the cabin.
Finally, all exterior lighting, glass and trim appear complete and in a fine undamaged condition.
The Mechanics
- Ferrari-built 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine mated to an excellent 6-speed ZF automatic transmission
- Adaptive suspension system, fitted as standard to all GranCabrio models
- Mechanical limited slip differential
- Excellent service record
Other open-top GTs may be able to match the GranCabrio for space and luxury, however none are able to do so accompanied by the sound of a naturally aspirated Ferrari V8, and this is where the Maserati is a truly unique offering.
Add to this a mechanical rear limited slip differential, double wishbone suspension front and rear and an adaptive damper system and, despite its size, the Maserati is able to offer a thrilling driving experience when desired.
On speaking to the vendor we are told that the Maserati performs faultlessly whilst out on the road, which comes as no surprise after looking through its supplied documentation.
Summary
Supremely capable, the Maserati GranCabrio is a hard one to beat for anybody looking for a luxurious yet sporting open-top grand tourer which can accommodate four adults in comfort.
The perfect vehicle for sunny country road blasts or transcontinental road trips, the super stylish GranCabrio really can do it all.
