The Appeal
The Continental GT is an extremely capable performer, with its six-litre W12 providing bucketloads of power readily on tap. And the driver can choose to summon this mechanical whirlwind with a simple movement of the right foot.
Finished in beautiful Thunder Blue paint, with a Magnolia and Imperial Blue interior, this Bentley is in superb condition for its age and mileage. It has all the luxury trimmings you would expect to see on a car of this calibre and all appears to be very well presented.
So if you’re looking for an enviable way to cross continents, then this Continental GT definitely has a lot to offer. And it’ll certainly be a lot of fun on the small twisty roads when you get there.
The History and Paperwork
- Built in Crewe, England, in 2012
- Second generation model
- ‘Mulliner’ trim level
- Registered in Poland
- 110,000 km recorded
- Several significant invoices on file for servicing in 2020 and 2021
The Interior
- Excellent leather interior
- Magnolia and Imperial Blue
- Mood lighting
Keyless entry allows you to effortlessly gain access to the opulent interior of this Continental GT without the hindrance of fumbling with annoying bunches of keys. The soft-close doors benefit from tinted double glazing for sound deadening and the sills proudly display the Bentley logo on their thresholds.
Beyond this, the interior is beautifully trimmed in nappa leather, in contrasting Magnolia and Imperial Blue shades. This covers the seats, doors, headlining and the dashboard. It is in excellent condition throughout, with very few blemishes or signs of use present. This is particularly impressive given how light the shade of leather is.
Proudly emblazoned upon the headrests — as well as the carpets — is the embroidered Bentley logo, and the seats also benefit from being fully electronically adjustable, with heating, ventilation and massage functions.
Further comfort is provided by the automatic dual-zone climate control system, as well as a Webasto auxiliary heater. And adjustable mood lighting sets the tone for a relaxing drive.
The driver is presented with a leather-trimmed, multi-function steering wheel, and this sits in front of the exquisitely veneered dashboard. The finest Tamo Ash has been used, and complements the rest of the interior very well.
A Naim audio system features bluetooth connectivity and a CD changer. It is controlled from the central screen in the dashboard, above which is found the fabulous Breitling clock.
The Exterior
- Thunder Blue metallic paintwork
- Mansory rear spoiler
- 21-inch alloy wheels
The fantastically named Thunder Blue paint really suits this Bentley and remains in very good condition throughout. Despite its mileage, the finish has survived well thanks to a ceramic coating.
All the body panels are nice and straight and the car maintains good shut lines. The exterior trim is well presented, with the mesh front grille chrome plated to match the trim pieces which run the length of the car. A Mansory rear spoiler finishes things off nicely and adds even more flair to this already fabulous Bentley.
The car runs on a set of 21-inch wheels, which proudly exhibit the Bentley ‘B’ at their centres, and maintain a good level of polish. The black paint also remains in good condition and there are no obvious areas of damage we could see.
The lamp lenses appear to be clear and bright, with LED running lights and automatic Bi-Xenon headlamps. The car also benefits from front and rear parking sensors and a rear view camera.
The Mechanics
- Six-litre W12 engine
- Adaptive suspension
- Active radar cruise control
The roaring, snorting heart of this Bentley Continental is its W12 engine, which displaces six litres and produces 582 horsepower. It sits silently under the bonnet, waiting to pounce whenever the driver puts their foot down, at which point it will unleash its full fury.
The driver holds the reins to this powerful monster through the paddle-shift levers on the steering column. Or when a more relaxed experience is required, the six-speed transmission will function fully automatically. The radar adaptive cruise control will take care of most of the rest.
Adaptive suspension ensures the ride and stiffness are always optimal, with five ride settings. And the two selectable ride heights allow tricky terrain and obstacles to be tackled with ease.
Summary
A powerful, highly effective luxury tourer, capable of being both supremely comfortable and supremely fast.
