The Appeal
The GranTurismo evolved the svelte profile and cossetting GT ambience that began with the modern 3200GT but introduced a crucial new ingredient: higher levels of quality and reliability. These are hand-crafted, boutique sports cars that you can reasonably enjoy on a daily basis.
The simply named ‘S’ added 10% more power from the Ferrari-derived 4.7L V8 - hiked to 440bhp - and an array of choice cosmetic enhancements, including side skirts, 20" alloys and a discreet spoiler. And that is all before you consider the beautifully balanced chassis.
To that stylish mix this car adds an attractive colour scheme of dark blue metallic with beige leather interior. Its quartet of keepers have looked after it well and kept the mileage down - it is well below average for the year.
The maintenance file shows a run of regular servicing by main Maserati dealers and well-regarded specialists. Recent work includes a £4,000 brake overhaul featuring new discs and pads front and rear.
In fine condition, properly maintained and with a current MOT, this hand-built GT is ready for some continental road trips.
