Exceptional durability, off road performance and practicality are the game, and this one, being fettled by Bowler themselves has an edge over the rest, dripping in high quality parts that have not seen the abuse that most will and has been fastidiously maintained to retain its new look and of course, its value.
This effort has been well worthwhile, with this being one of the best Defenders you will likely see on the market and despite its average mileage, its incredible overall condition from chassis to paintwork will leave you very pleasantly surprised.

The History and Paperwork

Recent MOT done, this showed up one advisory item, a ball joint which has since been sorted. V5 document is up to date and present.
We saw one healthy bill for a full brake overhaul including all 4 brake callipers, discs, pads and wheel bearing completed in November 2021.
Every 2-3 years the vehicle has visited a body shop to keep on top of any of the usual corrosion areas that Defenders are common for to be seen to, repaired or simply replaced to keep this as good looking as can be.
The service book is up to date with every stamp as it should be with exception of a discrepancy over the COVID period. Nothing is missing and the vendor has gone above and beyond to keep this example one of the best around.

The Interior

The XS model comes with part leather, A/C (the unit was replaced in 2019) and heated seats gives a luxury edge to this utilitarian and purposeful vehicle.
The entire of the interior is very good for its age, one small tear on the front central armrest which is relatively out of sight and some typical marks around the rear loading area particularly on the plastics are about all we could fault. The driver's seat has been kept covered for good reason and the rest of the seats have little to no wear or marks, a refreshing change for a Defender!

The light coloured head lining was in decent shape with just a few small marks that would no doubt clean off with ease and the floor shod with all weather mats and black carpets were all in top order.
One interior upgrade to note is the wonderful MOMO steering wheel with matching boss that we think suits the interior well, giving a personal flare but also a little more elbow room when turning.

The Exterior
This Defender was absolutely gleaming when we saw it.
Every inch was evidently well cared for and/or treated to keep it looking its absolute best. As mentioned before, this defender has regular visits to a excellent body shop to attend to minor defects that creep up and to keep on top of the underside as has been the case since purchase, meaning this vehicle has an exceptional paint finish and has not needed any welding or otherwise in its 12 years on the road.
Every inch was evidently well cared for and/or treated to keep it looking its absolute best. As mentioned before, this defender has regular visits to a excellent body shop to attend to minor defects that creep up and to keep on top of the underside as has been the case since purchase, meaning this vehicle has an exceptional paint finish and has not needed any welding or otherwise in its 12 years on the road.
The defender was treated to the Bowler 2018 motorsport package and this defiantly sets it apart from the crowd. Costing £11,500 you get a lot of quality for your money as is listed:

The huge 18’’ anthracite wheels are shod in BF Goodrich 265/65/18 tyres and all are in top order, almost never seeing an off road trail.
LAZER LED bumper mounted lights are also fitted putting out huge amounts of light without having a large light bar. Full rear LED rear lamps are new and just fitted tying in the whole package and modernising the look. An aluminium RHINO roof rack is available if of interest also.

Beautifully preserved underneath from new with a nicely applied stone chip protectant this Defender definitely does not look its age mechanically.
Having had its suspension upgrade by Bowler you can be sure all that is in order being some of the best products on the market, and with a very recent brake overhaul replacing all 4 callipers, discs and pads, it is certain this vehicle will be rock solid on any terrain you will throw at it.
BF Goodrich A/T tyres compliment the purposefulness of the vehicle too being an excellent for general off-road use while remaining quiet on road and very hard wearing.
