The Appeal

Ferrari’s 458 is good. So good that reviewers have fizzed about it being one of the greatest Maranello products of recent times. But sometimes, even when you have the best, you want to go better.
That was the philosophy behind this car’s extreme makeover by Japan’s Liberty Walk. It isn’t to be confused with cars receiving the firm’s good quality and well regarded bolt-on kits. This car is quite different. It started life as a 2010 458 Italia, one of the first cars fitted with the ‘prototype’ Novitec factory carbon fibre suspension system.
Believed to be ‘1 of 1’ in the UK if not worldwide, it spent three years at the Liberty Walk factory in Japan from early 2016 being utterly transformed. It received the GT Silhouette bodywork with dry carbon kit, a process that involved dismantling, reassembling and repainting the car, virtually in entirety.
You can see the results in the photographs. Only a handful of cars have received such extreme transformations by Liberty Walk and none are believed to have this exact specification. The work is carefully documented in the history file, which includes the Liberty Walk certification paperwork detailing the parts used and work completed.
So, a very special car. That is before you consider the exceptionally low mileage of under 17,000 miles. That is verified by regular servicing, including recent work by Torque GT in 2023 and a more recent health check by Ferrari Birmingham.
The seller acquired this car in 2022 in Hong Kong following its Liberty Walk transformation. He is a high end supercar collector with 20 other cars, including two 488s. He moved the car to his UK base in late 2023 and it is now correctly registered here. It carries a long, advisory-free MOT to February 2025.
The condition is obvious from the photographs. This is a 458 for the serious collector. There isn’t another and, with no copies of this kit ever made, likely there won’t ever be. Not to be missed.

This car was first registered in Hong Kong in 2010. The vendor tells us that it is one of the first cars fitted with the ‘prototype’ Novitec carbon fibre factory suspension system. It was regularly serviced in Hong Kong to 2014 before being sent to Liberty Walk in Japan in 2016 to begin the GT Silhouette transformation.
This work took a little under three years and involved, in the seller’s words, ‘completely dismantling and reassembling’ the car. The history file records this work and includes the factory certificates verifying the parts fitted. Each part also carries an individual serial number that can be checked when the car is on a ramp.

The work went considerably further than a standard LIberty Walk project, involving fitting the dry carbon kit that is a key element of its stand-out look. We understand that there are only a handful of cars fitted with this kit in Europe and this is the only one with this specification. The vendor has contacted Liberty Walk’s UK operation which confirms these facts and also that this kit has never been copied. Before completion the car was resprayed in Rosso Red.
The car returned to Hong Kong in late 2018 when it was put into long-term, dry storage. The vendor acquired it in late 2022 to add to his collection of 20 supercars. This includes two Ferrari 488s. He splits his time between the UK and Hong Kong and in early 2023 decided to bring this car back with him to Europe. The transport was managed by specialists Torque GT. It is correctly UK registered on the displayed private plate and all duties have been paid.
On arrival Torque GT checked and serviced the car. It has covered very few miles since. It has subsequently been health checked by Ferrari Birmingham - which was apparently glowing in its appraisal according to the seller - and received a new battery at the same time.
The vendor is in the process of returning several more of his supercar collection to the UK so has now decided to reluctantly part with this bespoke Ferrari.

To paraphrase Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, we’re not in Maranello any more. This car may have started life as Ferrari’s brilliant 458 Italia, but it has evolved considerably in the intervening 14 years. From the factory it was supplied with various carbon features - including the door cards and console trim - but the Liberty Walk transformation has pushed that theme to the limit.
Outside you’ll find a GT Silhouette kit, part of a three year Liberty Walk factory project that required dismantling and reassembling the car. The result is an extreme iteration of Ferrari’s 458 lines, incorporating diffusers, front and rear spoilers and a plethora of carbon features. Resprayed in Rosso Red by Liberty Walk in 2018, this car has been little used since and is therefore in remarkable condition.
The makeover and the high level of condition continues inside where you’ll find a black leather Recaro interior with contrast red stitching and carbon fibre features.
Liberty Walk is highly regarded by enthusiasts for the quality of its components, a point demonstrated by this car.

The Mechanics

  • Ferrari 4,497cc F136 V8 engine
  • 7spd dual clutch automatic gearbox
  • Factory ‘prototype’ Novitec carbon fibre suspension
  • Full IP exhaust system
  • Serviced by Torque GT on arrival in UK
  • Has travelled under 1,000 miles since arrival
  • Recent health check and new battery fitted by Ferrari Birmingham
  • Long MOT to February 2025 with no mechanical or running gear advisories
  • No reported running or driving issues
Reviewers laud the 458 Italia as one of the greatest mid-engined Ferraris of all time. It is a view confirmed by the seller of this car, who should know because he owns 20 supercars, including two 488s. He rates this one very highly.
It is an exceptionally low mileage car having covered an average of little more than 1,000 miles a year since it left the factory in 2010. It has been regularly serviced both in Hong Kong and the UK, most recently by specialist Torque GT in the South West when it arrived here. That was less than 1,000 miles ago. In the intervening time it has been health checked by Ferrari Birmingham with a glowing report according to the seller.
This is a car that has the performance to back up the extreme looks. Beyond the standard 458 performance it is fitted with the factory’s ‘prototype’ Novitec carbon fibre suspension system. There is also a full IP exhaust system that the vendor says sounds ‘astonishing’
Alongside the servicing work and Ferrari Birmingham checks, the level of condition is confirmed by a long MOT which shows no mechanical or running gear advisories. This is a car that will enhance any collection but one that also can be and deserves to be immediately enjoyed.
