The Background
Rarely offered for sale because of the limited numbers manufactured and simply because these very special edition RS6 models are much coveted by their owners and used sparingly.
These 500 special edition RS6's were produced to celebrate the end of an era. Such astonishing examples of automotive engineering and prowess will probably never again see the light of day.
The very notion of taking a V10 engine from the Lamborghini Gallardo, re tuning it and adding twin turbochargers before installing it under the bonnet of a family estate car is I think, unlikely ever to be repeated!

The History
This particular example has been owned by only two fortunate individuals who have clearly cared for it and coveted it from day one. Mechanically the car is in outstanding order and has only ever been cared for by selected Audi specialist technicians.
Collectively, they have meticulously cared for the upkeep of the vehicle on no less than 12 occasions with each service visit being officially noted and stamped in the accompanying book.
The car also benefits from never having being tampered with by tuning specialists and is entirely 100% factory original. New brake pads are recently installed to the front, with new rubber all round.

The Paperwork
DVLA V5 document is naturally present confirming ownership history along with the aforementioned comprehensive service log from both Audi Huddersfield and Derby.
The service history forms part of all of the original factory published owners manuals and booklets conveniently stored the their original Audi suede wallet. Also present from 2019, a complete HPI History Check ordered by the current keeper which reveals an unblemished past with no issues raised.
A complete MOT history check will reveal a clean sheet at last test and also assist in qualifying the recorded mileage.

The Interior
The beautiful bespoke interior shows minimal wear throughout. The pale Valcona leather seats are seemingly free from scuffs and scratches and sit in contrast to the gorgeous black leather finished dash and black, deep pile carpets all protected by factory original and RS6 embroidered floor mats both front and rear.
The owner reliably informs us that all the switchgear is fully functioning along with the entertainment, Sat Nav and TV tuner systems. Legroom is more than adequate for four adults and of course with this being an Avant you have a cavernous load space which reveals little or no sign of wear or scuffs to the floor or tailgate aperture.

The exterior
Finished in a lovely deep bronze, the all aluminium body does well to dial down the car’s hidden abilities. The spectacular deep luster of the paint finish really comes into its own when the sunlight hits it.
The almost two tone appearance is brought to life and awakened from its slumber of a much deeper, darker colour, which often appears black in more subdued lighting.
The 5 spoke alloys are factory finished in metallic mat grey and are mostly free from kerb rash but would undoubtedly benefit from a professional refurbish as would some bonnet chips.

The Mechanics
The aesthetic beauty of this car is undeniable but probably its key component is the magnificent V10 twin turbo charged engine.
This remarkable unit is capable of unleashing astonishing power to the tune of what can only be described as a truly unique soundtrack accompanied by the deep bass like quality of the exhaust note most especially on column controlled down change. All available torque is sequenced in absolute harmony through the Tiptronic automatic gearbox and transferred to the road via Audi’s astoundingly good 4 wheel drive system, originally developed to power the legendary Audi Quatro rally cars which took the series by storm some 20+ years earlier.
The electronic mastery of Audis Quatro 4 wheel drive system is a marvel to behold with enormous power output which is beautifully controlled then distributed to all four wheels before being unleashed to tarmac. It is truly thrilling experience especially as the whole process takes mere micro seconds to be realised! Fortunately, the large drilled discs are captured by powerful 6 piston calipers to the front affording stopping power that is just as impressive as the cars brutal ability to leap toward the horizon.

The Appeal
An extremely rare edition of possibly the last internal combustion engineered car of its type ever to be produced. Is there ever going to be a time in future when a manufacturer will take an engine from a true super car and shoehorn it into a family estate? A truly awesome combination of enormous power, poise and comfort all packaged in a beautifully understated aluminium flared body.
To the casual observer this car represents beautifully finished Audi oozing quality and tradition. But to the initiated, this is a car that is so utterly capable of so much more courtesy of the astounding Lamborghini derived engine installed discreetly beneath the sweeping bonnet.
Quite unique, savagely fast and extremely rare this V10 RS6 Plus must surely be a collectors dream.
