2009 VW Golf R-32

Highlights

  • Powerful 3.2-litre V6 engine
  • Excellent paintwork and interior
  • AWD, 6-speed manual

The Appeal

There’s something utterly fantastic about a hot hatch, isn’t there? Who does’t love an unassuming little car which does’t look out of place on the morning commute, but when required it will happily release just enough fire and brimstone to let your fellow road users know you mean business.
This Golf R-32 is a fantastic example of this. The 3.2-lire V6 will eagerly roar into life when asked, and it can channel the power to all four wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
Finished in a fantastic shade of blue, this R32 has clearly been carefully looked after throughout its life. It shows just over twelve thousand miles on the odometer and this low mileage is reflected in its excellent paintwork and almost-new looking interior. It comes with detailed service history and was last serviced in June 2022.

The History and Paperwork

  • First registered 5th January 2009
  • MOT valid until June 2023
  • No MOT advisories
  • Only 12,586 miles recorded
  • Thirteen VW dealership service stamps
  • Last serviced in June 2022

 The Interior

  • ‘Anthracite Vienna’ leather
  • The interior is in almost-new condition
  • High specification throughout
The interior of this Golf really shows just how well it has stood up to the test of time. Although it is 13 years old, it hardly looks it. And while the seats have evidently been sat in, there is only some very light creasing to the leather to tell us that this is the case. The driver’s seat bolsters remain in very good shape and there are no rips or scuffs to the fabric that we could see.
Black carpets and ‘R’ branded overmats match the leather and are in good clean condition, and the door cards are similarly well presented. Above, the good news continues with the headlining which is both clean and secure.
The driver is presented with a full array of options and accessories, which provide the perfect accompaniment to the main course of raw naturally-aspirated V6 power and six manual gears. The interior is said to seem almost new, which is testament to this car’s careful ownership.

 The Exterior

  • Excellent Blue Pearlescent paintwork
  • Very clean underneath
  • Hardly a blemish to be found
Finished in the desirable shade of Pearlescent Blue, this Golf really looks like it means business. It’s clearly a car which is meant to be enjoyed and makes no apology for its purposeful styling.
The paint looks to be in excellent condition throughout, with a deep shine and hardly a scratch to be seen. It has clearly been very carefully driven and stored since new. The exterior trim is in a similarly high state of preservation, including the R32 badges.
Underneath, the car looks to be in exceptionally clean condition. The body, under trays, exhaust and suspension components are all very well preserved and showing almost no discernible signs of corrosion.

 The Mechanics

  • 3,200cc naturally aspirated VR6 engine
  • All-wheel drive six-speed manual transmission
  • Full service history
Nestled in the engine bay of this Golf R-32 is a 3.2-litre VR6 engine, which is naturally aspirated and produces a whopping 250 bhp. This makes the R32 an extremely hot hatchback, and a whole load of fun.
And coupled to a six-speed manual transmission, this is a car for those who enjoy the simple pleasure of driving a powerful, lightweight car. It is the perfect combination of unpretentious body and extremely capable drivetrain.
The accompanying documentation sets out the car’s extremely good service record, with a full set of stamps in the service book and plenty of invoices as well. The last service carried out was in June 2022. This was a major service, which included changing the Haldex all-wheel drive oil.
After even just a cursory glance over the engine bay, it is clear that this Golf is extremely clean throughout. All the plastics and pipework have been kept in a beautifully clean state, which shows the attention to detail which has been lavished upon this Golf.

Summary

Extremely clean and tidy throughout, this Golf has evidently been extremely well kept. And the Powerful V6 makes this Golf a favourite among hot hatch aficionados.
