The Appeal
The W451 Smart ForTwo Brabus, to those in the know, is a very special version of the unusually diminutive car, though the marketing departments of the day had a field day with grammar when they styled the name as ‘smart fortwo BRABUS’.
With an uprated engine that produces 101bhp, Brabus-tuned suspension and a higher quality interior, it was a significant upgrade on the standard ForTwo, more so than on the later Brabus-tweaked models. This was possibly down to the cost of the upgrade; it was an expensive car in its day which makes them comparatively rare today.

This example was acquired by the current owner with some light damage to the front offside which was easily fixed and, since then, it has been enthusiastically maintained. Although used regularly, it’s also been to shows and has had everything taken care of including no fewer than four oil changes in the last year and an expensive wheel refurbishment.
This is your opportunity to benefit from all that love and attention. If you want to be able to park legitimately on the street perpendicular to the kerb and also enjoy the fun of a Smart car with all the Brabus tweaks, then get over to the bid button now.

The Interior
• Heated seats
• Panoramic roof with blind
• Uprated audio with subwoofer under the seat
• Original, hard to obtain, Brabus floor mats in great condition
When describing the cabin of a Smart it is of course fair to say that there’s not very much of it relative to other, larger cars. But in the case of the Brabus ForTwo, what it lacks in quantity it seems to want to make up for in quality with smart sports seats embossed with the Brabus logo, a chunky sports steering wheel and dash-top mounted Brabus dials. Here it’s all in excellent condition, with little or no wear to show for its admittedly modest mileage.
The small but useful boot space is also similarly clean and tidy and the seller reports that everything works as it should, including toasty warm heated seats, cold air conditioning and a modern head unit that makes commuting a breeze.
The Exterior
• Very good overall condition
• Refurbished wheels and almost new tyres
• Front plate removed (plinth supplied)
• LED front lights
Maintaining the cheeky looks of the ForTwo, the Brabus adds twin exhausts and chunky Brabus-branded wheels to great effect, giving the appearance a hint of visual aggression which has been subtly augmented with the addition of some wheel spacers.
The paintwork is in very good overall condition, a few chips around the inside of the front nearside aside. The wheels are still looking fresh from their refurb while the tyres are almost new with plenty of tread remaining. Underneath, what little there is to look at is reportedly in mint condition.

The Mechanics
• Clean and original engine bay
• Everything recently checked over
• Ready to be enjoyed
Given the amount of attention lavished on the car of late, you would certainly expect it to drive well and happily the seller reports that it feels very taut on the road with no unusual noises from the engine, drivetrain or suspension.
He describes the acceleration as ‘punchy’ and, while the five speed SMG gearbox is not the most sophisticated, it’s relatively straightforward to learn how to work with it. The turbocharged three cylinder engine provides an interesting soundtrack and overall, it’s provided him with a great deal of amusement.

Summary
Small, rare and interesting, this ForTwo Brabus is the perfect way to have fun on the commute and be more confident of being able to park when you arrive!
