2009 Porsche 911 Carrera 2S PDK (997.2)

Highlights

  • Genuine low mileage
  • Comprehensive history
  • Desirable specification and options

The Appeal

Of all the water-cooled 911s, the 997.2 is probably held in the highest regard.

Offering a compelling combination of discrete styling, luxury, technology and deep reserves of power, it’s little wonder it remains so popular.
Here we have a low mileage, well specified example.

Furnished with an extensive history file and some excellent options, it presents in very good condition and would be a perfect introduction to the marque’s modern range.

The owner would be pleased to show potential buyers the car in advance of the auction ending and would welcome any questions.

The History and Paperwork

In 2014 this car was involved in a side impact and categorised as Cat D (what would now be Cat N) which means it was repairable, non-structural damage.

Prior to purchase in 2015, the current owner had an independent assessment carried out by industry experts Autolign, which the vehicle passed in all categories.

This inspection was a MIRRC Approved HPI Vehicle Inspection.

Please note the following: The private number plate on the car at present will be retained by the owner and is not included in the sale.

The Interior

  • Black leather upholstery
  • Optional extended satellite navigation
  • Universal Audio Interface option - USB, iPod and Aux connections
  • Optional phone module
  • Electric windows and door mirrors
  • Air conditioning with front and rear demisters
  • Integrated CD/radio system
  • Optional Park Assist (rear)
With its smart black leather upholstery and complementary black carpets and Porsche overmats, the cabin of this 911 is a handsome and comfortable place to spend time.

The leather itself presents nicely, with minimal signs of wear and just one or two minor blemishes. Any evidence of use is confined to the front seats, with the rear seats hardly showing any signs of use at all.
Much the same can be said for the carpets and overmats, which look in very good order. It also benefits from a lovely dark grey headlining, which is secure and shows no signs of wear or damage we could see.
The internal trim, switchgear and driving controls all look in fine fettle, with no notable wear or damage evident. All of the buttons retain their lettering and iconography nicely, and the instruments are all very clear and highly legible.

When initially ordered, the car was specced with the optional Extended Nav, UAI and Phone modules - which has gone some way to future proofing it and ensures it remains eminently usable today.
The owner reports that everything in the cabin functions just as it should, with no issues that they are aware of.

The Exterior

  • Optional metallic Basalt Black paintwork
  • Optional Carrera Sport wheels
  • Presented in very good overall condition
Finished in metallic Basalt Black paint, this 911 is as subtle and sophisticated as cars with this kind of performance get.

As far as we can see, the paintwork is in very good condition, with the owner telling us there are a few stone chips and some minor blemishes, but nothing that should be of concern.
The bodywork presents very well, with nice, even gaps and straight panels. So too, the trim is all present and correct and in good order. There are one or two very minor blemishes to some of the badging and external plastic, and a small stone chip in the upper part of the windscreen on the passenger side.
It rides on the optional Carrera Sport wheels, smartly designed 10-spoke 19” alloys that look to be in very good condition, with just some minor fading to the badges in the centre caps. They’re wrapped in matching Michelin Pilot Sport tyres which the vendor tells us are all in good condition with good levels of tread.

The Mechanics

  • 3,800cc flat-six
  • PDK 7-speed transmission
  • Full service history
  • Last service in May 2022 @ 32,401 miles
  • New A/C condensers fitted in May 2022
  • PSM, Sport / Sport+ modes
The naturally aspirated flat-six in the 997.2 is widely acknowledged as a work of art. Significantly revised over the previous generation, and sitting slightly lower to offer better handling characteristics, in this ‘S’ spec car it offers up a very healthy 385bhp to the rear wheels.
Combined with the improved suspension set-up in this generation and the optional PDK transmission in this car, it offers a wonderful driving experience and lightning fast gear changes from the semi-auto double clutch system.
We’re assured by the vendor that the car drives very well, accelerating well, steering and braking correctly with no leaks, smoke or other mechanical issues.

Summary

Ever since the 997.2 was released, it’s been the darling of the modern Porsche fraternity.

With just the right level of technology and practicality alongside that delightful atmospheric flat-six, it’s one of the few performance cars that can be used daily with no real compromises.
This example is in very nice condition, has a great specification and a well recorded history.

We think it would be perfect for anyone wanting to experience owning their first modern Porsche, or for anyone that simply wants a great performance car on their drive.
