The Appeal
In the 2000s, BMW was heavily involved in the V10 era of Formula 1, initially with Williams and latterly with Sauber. At some point, someone in the company was brave enough to go in front of the board and say “listen up chaps, I’ve got a great idea…”
Thus (we imagine) the slightly bonkers idea of a V10 powered executive saloon was born, and we are eternally grateful to BMW for allowing their engineers to run with it. As the first production saloon to be fitted with a V10, no one really had any idea if it would work. But work it did.

This is a very tasteful example, finished with smart Spacegrau Metallic over a deep red leather interior. A technical masterpiece, if you’ve ever wondered what a saloon with the screaming heart of a race car would be like, this is the perfect opportunity to find out.

Summary
Every now and then, BMW go completely mad and throw everything they have at a car, usually that results in something truly wonderful. That’s certainly the case with the E60 M5. From the way it sounds to the huge range of technical innovations and those intriguing Chris Bangle lines (which are maturing very well), every inch has been carefully thought out and beautifully executed.
With very low indicated mileage, a lovely colour combination and a high specification, we can’t think of a single reason not to put this handsome saloon on your driveway. After all, who wouldn’t want a V10 super-saloon?
