The Appeal

The Arnage T was perhaps the last of a particular type of Bentley and super saloon - one hand-built around a rumbling 6.8L V8. We’re not going to see cars like this again too soon.

The simply named ‘T’ was the high performance version of the Arnage. From 2007 it got an improved version of the grunty V8 with power dialled up to 500bhp. These later cars were facelifted to with a more modern quad-light visage that still looks good today.

Just 817 were built in RHD and this 2009 example is one of the last, amongst the final cars registered in the last year of production. Finished in beautiful dark blue with a contrasting magnolia hide interior, it benefits from a raft of Mulliner bespoke features including the signature quilted leather trim with embossed headrests.

Its quarter of keepers have clearly looked after it because it presents today in very good condition. The photographs indicate a car that wears its age very well. That is likely thanks to the low mileage of only 32,541 miles. The history file backs up the sense of care, showing a run of 11 service stamps by main dealers and specialists and over £7,500 of recent maintenance by Bentley.

A good Arnage is all about factory specification and condition. On each of those points, this handsome car scores highly. The dark blue and magnolia colour scheme is a popular and wise one that suits the facelifted model’s aesthetics. Here is it is highly preserved likely due to the low mileage and keepers. The Arnage T was quick but the later, post-2007 models like this one, were considerably quicker. Power jumped to 500bhp thanks to revisions made to the venerable V8 -now rated at 6.8L and running two big Garrett turbos. The gearbox was also improved to a 6spd ZF unit.

Al of which makes this late model facelift Arnage T the one to have. The very low mileage is verified by MOT records and full service history by main dealers and specialists. In 2023 the car underwent £7,500 of work by Bentley Manchester across servicing, electrics and other repairs.
