The Appeal
The Morgan roadster is a classic case of British eccentricity. Ford-powered, vintage-look roadsters with ash frames, hand-built by a team of artisans. They’ve gained a reputation for being a seriously fun drive - perfectly capturing the classic top-down country drive with a chunky V6 under the hood.
The lightweight roadster special was a 40-unit line dedicated specifically to retro-style racing, something they took on in stride. These seriously nippy cars are a full 70kg lighter than their traditional counterparts, and it really shows on the track!
This example has a proud, storied history of racing - including a spectacular crash at Silverstone in the 2011 charity race, piloted by ex-England footballer, Luther Blissett. This is available on the Morgan Motor Company's youtube channel and really took our breath away!
The car was repaired with ‘no expense spared’ by Morgan works, who outshopped it good as new - and it continued to race all the way up to 2019.

As you’d expect from a racer, this Mog is very spartan and lightweight, with only the necessities for the track on display. We can even spot exposed wooden frames and aluminium in the footwells and side panels!
It’s all in excellent order, with very light signs of wear and all instruments reported to be in good working order. We don’t know of any significant faults across the board, and - to our eyes - it’s ready and raring to go.
The Exterior
- Excellent black exterior with number spot and motorosport appliques

Beautifully presented, this Morgan Roadster still carries plenty of insignia belying its racing experience - if the big roll cage wasn’t any indication - and is in excellent condition. Save for a small dent and a couple of stone chips, it’s a remarkable looker.
The car is complete with an excellent soft top, windscreen and sidescreens, so it’s equally at home on the road.
