The Appeal
The final facelift X358 XJR is a car of two characters: it is the last big XJ to carry the classic styling and yet, beneath those heritage lines, lies the heart of a sports car. Thanks to its lightweight aluminium bodywork and supercharged 4.2L V8, this is one agile and brutally quick super saloon.
This car leans into that theme with its BRG-adjacent Botanic Green metallic paintwork. Sitting on smart five spoke 20in Calisto alloys, it has an air of purpose that lesser X350s lack, the looks enhanced by the final facelift improvements of these later cars. It was supplied by the factory with a very high specification that adds an array of appealing extras to the already desirable mix of ivory leather and burr walnut that you’ll find inside.
There are four registered keepers on the log book, but the first three were the same person in different guises, registered privately and via companies. The current enthusiast keeper acquired the car in 2020 and has used it sparingly, mainly for long road trips to southern Spain. In between, it has been carefully garaged.
The service history is as impressive as the condition, showing a run of regular servicing -in excess of factory requirements - by main dealers and model specialists. The car has covered few miles since the last attention. Recent work has included attention to the suspension plus new tyres.
With advisory-free MOT to August 2025, this is a chance to acquire a high specification, carefully maintained example of the last of Jaguar’s classically styled super saloons.
The vendor says:
“This car leaves me with a smile on my face every time I use it, the sound, acceleration and gorgeous looks - it's the last of the classic XJs and the one experts say will be the most collectable. In my view, there is no better colour combination than this one nor one with a better service record.”
