2008 Fiat 500 Ferrari Edition

Highlights

  • Only 200 Produced
  • 60 made in RHD Worldwide
  • Supplied only to Ferrari Dealers

The Appeal

If you are looking for something a little rare then this Fiat 500 could be for you. These were built solely for Ferrari dealers for use as courtesy cars and only 200 were produced, 60 of which were RHD and each dealer only got one. They were so admired by the people that borrowed them the dealers had difficulty getting them back. They were never intended to be sold but as they were causing something of a headache for them each dealer was told to sell their Ferrari Edition 500. So, now this little gem could be yours and you’d be pretty guaranteed not to see another.

The History and Paperwork

  • Certified Car 152 of 200
  • Unmodified and as it left the Ferrari Dealer
  • Freshly Serviced
  • New Cambelt and Water pump
  • 2 Registered Keepers
  • Mot Certificate to November 23
  • Current V5

The car has had little use with only 35,000 miles on the clock. It has had the benefit of a recent full service which included a cambelt and water pump replacement and to increase the longevity of the car it has received a full underbody anti-rust treatment. It is in fabulous overall condition with little evidence of wear inside or out. Originally delivered to Lancaster Ferrari back in 2008 and has covered little mileage since being released from the dealer.

The Interior

  • Colour coded dashboard
  • Factory Leather seats
  • Factory Magnetti Marelli Sat Nav
  • Dealer Mats

The little car’s interior is filled with a set of delightful and unmarked leather seats. The bright colour-coded dash which is matched to the exterior is a fabulous contrast and the large centre dial is certainly eye-catching. There is a large glass-panelled roof which is electrically operated and can slide fully open or tilt. The leather-clad steering wheel displays no wear and is emblazoned with a large Fiat logo. A set of dealer mats protects an unmarked carpet and the door swabs are free from any scuffs and marks. All the switch-gear seems to work as it should,

The Exterior

  • Ferrari Rosso Corse paintwork
  • Colour-coded Mirrors
  • Genuine Factory Alloy Wheels
  • Stainless Twin Tail Pipes
  • Rear Privacy Glass
  • Ferrari Badging

You couldn’t ask for a better colour for a Ferrari-themed special edition, it of course has to be red. The unmarked factory-fit wheels are a welcome contrast as are the little Ferrari badges on each wing. The paintwork itself is in great condition with no real evidence of stone chipping. There are a few minimal scuffs around the boot where baggage has been lifted in and out, but a deft hand with some rubbing compound should minimise those. The rest of the badging is in standard blingy chrome and looks super against the red.

The Mechanics

  • Tweaked 100 BHP Engine
  • Freshly Serviced
  • 11 Month MOT
  • Air Conditioning freshly serviced
  • Cambelt replaced

This little beauty is exactly as it was when it left the factory and has been lovingly maintained and fully serviced. It still possesses the original twin-tail exhaust system which has a gruff sporty note without being pretentious. It has recently had money bestowed upon it by having a full engine service which included the all-important cambelt and water pump change. Underneath the car has also had some investment in the form of a full underbody protection treatment costing more than £500.

Summary

Some cars can be called rare, but when one comes along that the world was only allowed to enjoy 60 in RHD, that plaque on the dash shows it really is something rather special. It may be a pretty standard Fiat 500 under the skin but that plaque on the dash shows it is something rather special. For only one to be permitted for each Ferrari dealership is amazing and this one is completely untouched as Fiat and Ferrari intended.

As you’d expect, something this rare has been cared for properly and not only serviced above and beyond Fiat’s criteria but has been treated for longevity. In fabulous condition inside and out with an impressive history and made in very limited numbers, what else could you possibly want? Besides, could you find another one like it?
