The Appeal

Founded in 1991 by Peter Bailey, Chesil has built some of the best Porsche 356 replicas around and continues to develop its kits and factory-built cars to this day.
We’re delighted to offer this rare, desirable and highly specified Tygan Chesil Speedster which has covered a mere 5,150 miles since completion. Based on the floor pan of a corrosion-free 1975 Volkswagen 1300 which had just 57,000 miles on the clock, this Speedster was built by the Chesil factory and completed in late 2008.
A freshly built 1,660 cc twin-carb engine with sports exhaust and new ancillaries was fitted along with a combination of brand-new and restored steering and suspension components. The interior is all new and of the highest quality along with Chesil’s own GRP bodywork and wet weather gear. Everything down to the finest details has been taken care of to a superb standard including the fitment of period-correct ‘Porsche’, ‘Speedster’ and ‘Carrera’ badging, a 1957 vehicle excise licence disc and period Maltin Porsche dealer rear window sticker. There are even several discreet modern enhancements like an Alpine V-Drive sound system with 60w speakers and an immobiliser/alarm system.
For those seeking a 356 Speedster replica that’s a cut above the rest, this factory-built Chesil ticks all the right boxes.
