The Appeal
The Brera is surely one of Giugiaro’s best designs of the last 20 years. Which is saying something. Well proportioned and neatly detailed, it could also only ever be an Alfa Romeo.
Despite those great looks and the option of a sonorous 3.2litre V6, some British buyers found the handling slightly disappointing. Step forward Prodrive, famous for its Subaru rally cars but with Alfa Romeo previous: the two firms conspired to create the 1995 155 BTCC race car.
The Prodrive makeover was available for 4cyl and V6 petrol-engined cars, with 250 of each sold, but only to UK customers. Each featured uprated suspension and a Prodrive exhaust alongside some appealing aesthetic touches inside and out.
NOTE: This vehicle is fit with standard coil-overs rather than the factory Prodrive units due to supply issues.

These rare cars are very well regarded by enthusiasts, which makes this low mileage example a great find. Classically finished in Grigio metallic with 19in teledials and a black leather interior it has clearly been cared for and is pleasingly unmodified.
All Alfa Romeos eventually become gold-plated classics, but the rare and V6-equipped Brera S is surely going to be at the front of that lengthy queue. With its low miles, thick history and long MOT, this one is very tempting.
