The Appeal

The 997 developed the 996’s water-cooled theme with a car that was quieter and more comfortable. The return of the classic aesthetic cues, like the round lights and retro-infused dashboard, were also welcome.
Of the many 997 variants available, those looking for precision and poise in their 911 ticked the box marked ‘4S.’ The number added the surefooted AWD system while the letter  delivered a package of performance improvements starting with more power from the the bigger 3.8L engine.
The first keeper of this Basalt Black 997.1 cabriolet went further. Much further. He specified a long list of tasty, sought-after features that make it stand out from the market. Those decisions mean the new buyer gets a car fitted with the Sport Chrono Package, enhanced front bumper, upgraded sports exhaust and engaging manual gearbox. Comfort features include a special-order Cocoa leather cabin that adds a distinctive touch to this well kept car.
It is a low mileage car that has been carefully maintained by its keepers throughout its life. Alongside regular servicing - most recently at 56,000 miles in 2024 - recent work includes a new clutch and flywheel and replacement coolant pipes.
Supplied with a long, advisory-free MOT to September 2025 and the distinctive private plate, this is a good opportunity to discover the joy of a 997 in the right spec.
