2007 Maybach 62

Highlights

• Only one EU owner
• German registered - meets specifications
• Strong specification

The Background

Representing the first models offered by the Maybach brand after it was revived in 2000, the 57 and 62 (short/long wheelbase) were based upon the W140 S-class platform, and were produced until 2012, when financial losses proved too costly to continue production.
The 62 was designed specifically with chauffeur-driven applications in mind, with a longer wheelbase, fully-reclining rear seats, four-zone climate control, air suspension, automatically closing doors and more, making this luxurious sedan a true palace on wheels.

The History

First registered in March 2007 and delivered new to Tokyo, Japan, this long-wheelbase Maybach 62 was delivered with an incredibly strong specification, including tri-tone paintwork over a California Beige leather interior.

Purchased by our vendor from Japan in 2019 and imported into the EU during 2020, the car was shipped immediately to a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Germany, who registered the car for one day - along with giving it a thorough inspection - meaning it can now be registered in any EU country without hassle.
During the inspection, the car was put through the TUV exam, and the dealership confirmed that the car was in such fantastic condition - “like new” according to our vendor - that no further work was needed.
Since the inspection has taken place, the car has seen minimal use and has not been re-registered in Belgium.
New, this Maybach 62 cost an incredible €723,000 and our vendor confirms it was chauffeur-driven whilst in Japan.

The Paperwork

Included with the car is the full complement of Maybach handbooks, German registration documents, TUV certificates, EU data sheet, two sets of keys and a host of other documentation and paperwork.

The Interior

Opulent does not even begin to describe the nature of the Maybach 62’s interior - it is absolutely stunning, and its not hard to see why these cars were a favourite with the elite across the globe.
This example is in like-new condition throughout, and we’re genuinely struggling to find any signs of wear and tear, let alone the sort of usage marks you’d expect to find on a car of this age and mileage.
All of the seats are in excellent condition, with only a couple of light creases noted to the bases and outer bolsters, with even the driver’s seat looking almost factory-fresh in its condition.
Similarly, the carpets retain their protective coverings, the door cards show no signs of heavy use and the headliner is in excellent condition, with the electro-chromatic roof reportedly in full working order.
The various wooden inlays and trims all retain a deep, glossy shine and are free from any scratches or wear to the lacquer, and even the various switches and controls throughout the cabin show minimal signs of use.

The Exterior

As with the luxuriously-appointed cabin, the bodywork of this Maybach 62 shows very little sign of wear or usage, and hides its age and mileage with apparent ease.
There are no signs of any impact damage, dents, scuffs or scratches to the paintwork that we can see, nor that have been reported to us.
The tri-tone paintwork changes shade depending on the light when its hits, switching between green, black and purple, and looks fantastic whilst retaining the restrained aesthetic typical of the marque.
All four wheels are virtually immaculate, and the car has been kept inside whilst in the vendor’s care, meaning it is showroom-fresh for the next owner.

The Mechanicals

Under the extensively sound-deadened bonnet, the 5.6-litre V12 engine is in rude health and presents fantastically well, with no signs of any leaks or stains, and no reported faults out on the road according to our vendor.

The Appeal

Representing the pinnacle of luxury motoring in the early 21st century, the Maybach 62 was the choice of the elite, the social high-rollers and the wealthiest men and women on the planet alike, thanks to its no-holds-barred approach to ultimate luxury and opulence.
This particular example has evidently been cherished and pampered since new, and has led an easy-going life at the hands of one former keeper and their chauffeur(s) meaning that it remains in virtually showroom-fresh condition for the next owner to use and enjoy.
