The Appeal
The X350 Jaguar appeared in 2003 to become the firm’s third iteration of its range topping XJ saloon. Whilst the styling followed the “evolution not revolution” ethos, it was under the skin where so much had changed for the better. Most significantly, the car was now formed from an aluminium unibody construction, making it simultaneously 40% lighter and 50% stiffer than its predecessor.
Our XJR ticks all the boxes. Not only does it feature that fire breathing supercharged V8 upfront, but it presents beautifully in its sublime metallic green colourway. A recent re-import from the salt free roads of Japan it is in fine fettle throughout and packed with almost every conceivable refinement and driver aid of the period.

Summary
What makes the XJR so appealing is its hard-to-rival combination of sumptuous luxury and rip-snorting, supercharged performance. It’s a heady mix that is almost certain to beguile anyone with even a passing interest in cars and driving.
This is a pristine example, too, that ticks absolutely every box in terms of equipment, appointment, and quality. It is hard to think of another car that offers the same blend of attributes in such a fine looking and subtle package, and at such an attainable price point. Surely an enticing and great value ownership proposition for connoisseurs of fine, continent-crossing luxury saloons.
