Highlights
- Second owner since 2008
- Electric Orange paint
- Low mileage with Service history
The Appeal
Resplendent in its signature launch colour of Electric Orange this Focus ST is in superb condition. With less than 37,000 miles on the clock both its owners have cherished the car, and there is no evidence that it has ever been thrashed or hosted late night car park burger parties!
At its launch in 2005, most regarded the Focus ST as a Golf GTI alternative with more pace, a sexier sound and a lower price. Since then it has developed a strong following of its own, helped by the arrival four years later of the ST-derived Focus RS. Some of the RS glory has since filtered down to the ST over the years and now these fast Fords are recognised as the street heroes of their era, and values are rocketing. Read on as there will be no disappointments with this one..

The Interior
- Colour coordinated two-tone Recaro seats
- No damage or visible wear
- Excellent condition throughout
The Focus is equally striking on the inside with orange and grey Recaro seats. These are in excellent unworn condition with no stains tears or damage. The black carpet has been protected with dark grey mats so it too is in excellent condition. The interior is mostly standard Focus but with a few nice ST upgrades. The steering wheel has a thicker rim and ST badge, the pedals are rubber-studded aluminium, and a three-dial pack on top of the dashboard displays oil pressure and temperature plus turbo boost. The gauges are clean, and all the switches and buttons appear to operate correctly.
In the back the matching orange and grey rear seat is in unused condition. The boot area is clean, with the tyre inflator kit still in its bag.
We think that you’d be hard pressed to guess the ST has covered 36,000 miles, as in nearly every area the interior looks like new.
The Exterior
- Brilliant Electric Orange paint
- Virtually factory fresh exterior with no damage
- Immaculate Y spoke Ford ST alloy wheels
To say the Electric Orange paint was eye-popping would be an understatement! We visited on a particularly bright day and it was hard to photograph the car. The paintwork is in excellent condition with no door dents and barely any stone chips. All the go faster ST details are present, from the deeper front bumper with fog lights, to the side strakes behind the rear wheels, spoiler above the rear screen and chunky dual exhausts. The car sits on generously wide 18 inch Y spoke alloy wheels that are in near perfect condition with no curb damage or bubbling. They are wrapped in a matching set of General Altimax One S tyres that are just lightly worn. The glass areas and light lenses are all intact with no chips or cracks.
A brief look at the photos will confirm that as far as the exterior is concerned the ST is pretty much factory fresh in every respect.
The Mechanics
- Good service history with invoices
- Cambelt replaced in 2019
- No aftermarket parts, all factory correct
Make no mistake; this Focus ST is a very quick car! That’s unsurprising when you look at the specs: 2.5 litre 5 cylinder engine putting 225bhp and 236lb/ft of torque through the front wheels. We were lucky enough to sample the ST on the road and can confirm it has the performance to back up the looks. The car drives well with no rattles or clunks, the engine is responsive and sweet, and the 6 speed gearbox is a pleasure to use which is lucky as gear changes come pretty fast and regularly!
Having covered less than 37,000 miles from new the ST still feels factory fresh and there is the satisfaction that the cambelt was renewed just 3,500 miles ago. Lifting the bonnet reveals an immaculate engine bay with no aftermarket parts and very little grime. Everything is as it left the factory. The underside shows some light surface corrosion on exposed metal parts, but no evidence of a hard life.
We don’t think there can be many as tidy and sound as this example.
Summary
This Focus ST is a real gem. With good examples few and far between this well preserved low mileage example is as nice as you could hope to find and is sure to be a wise investment. A stand-out centre piece to any fast Ford collection, this ST would be a fabulous addition and would sit comfortably alongside any RS or Cosworth.
We think it’s one for the Ford connoisseur!
