The Appeal
The DB9 was the successor to the popular DB7 but it’s innovative aluminium VH platform not only gave it 25 per cent less weight, but also doubled the torsional stiffness. Both the coupe and Volante convertible were launched at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2003, prior to going on sale in 2004.
Featuring a powerful 5,935cc V12 engine that developed 450bhp mated up to either a six-speed Graziano manual or a six-speed ZF automatic, performance was strong with the 0-60mph sprint taking a mere 4.7 seconds. The top speed was 186mph.
This particular example has only covered 17,722 miles and has a full Aston Martin main dealer service history and is finished in stunning Meteorite Silver paintwork which is in first rate condition. It’s kept indoors under a bespoke cover with the battery on a conditioner and only comes out on dry sunny days.
The History and Paperwork
- V5C present in current owner’s name
- Owned since March 2019
- MoT until April 2024
- Never failed an MoT
- Never had an MoT advisory
First registered on the third of March 2007, this Volante has been owned by the current owner since March 2019 and has always been serviced by Aston Martin Nottingham during his tenure. It had covered around 15,000 miles at the time and has only covered 17,722 miles being used in dry weather as a second car. It is kept garaged, under an Aston Martin fitted cover and linked to a battery conditioner when it is not in use.
When bought by the current owner it was fully detailed and treated to a ceramic coating on the bodywork and wheels, while the Mohair roof was also fully treated. The current owners also thinks that the engine was upgraded by Aston Martin to produce 485bhp.
It was last serviced by Aston Martin Nottingham on 28 April 2023 at 17,194 miles when it received an annual service that included an oil and filter change, as well as a coolant change.
The number plate shown in the photos is being retained by the owner and the car will be supplied with its original MX57KUD registration plate.

The Mechanics
- Engine bay is smart and neat with a recent service
- Powered by a silky smooth 5.9-litre V12 (built by Mick Moten says the engine bay plaque)
- Engine started up easily and sounded fantastic
- Six-speed automatic push button gearbox felt fine
As with the condition of the interior and exterior, under the bonnet of this Volante is an immaculate V12 engine that looks almost factory fresh. With only 17,722 miles on it, it nearly is! It started easily at the first prod of the button and settled down to a silky smooth idle that only a V12 can produce.
With a full annual service carried out only 528 miles ago, as you’d expect the car doesn’t need any attention. The current owners says he does not know of any issues with it mechanically and says it drives beautifully and has fantastic power from that V12 powerhouse under the bonnet.
Summary
There can be few Volante models with the right colour combination that are as immaculate as this 2007 example. With just 17,722 miles on the clock, full Aston Martin service history and first-rate paintwork it is hard to fault. Definitely not one to miss if you’re after one of the finest examples around.
