2007 Aston Martin DB9

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Lovely example from private collection
  • Excellent throughout
  • Four owner car with mostly Aston Martin service history
  • Rare Baltic Blue interior colour scheme
  • Brand new MOT

THE APPEAL

Introduced in 2003, the DB9 was Aston Martin’s new, upmarket model to replace the DB7 – a large luxury GT with supercar performance and stunning styling, and one that was significantly more technologically advanced than its predecessor.
It was also the first Aston to be entirely designed, developed, engineered and constructed at the company’s new manufacturing facility at Gaydon, Warwickshire, from its days under Ford’s Premier Auto Group, making it a top tip for future collectability.
This example was supplied new to its first owner in January 2007 and has been used as an occasional car by all four of its owners, amassing 55,532 miles. It has most recently formed part of a large private collection, but with the owner having just acquired a Vanquish it’s now surplus to requirements.

THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK

  • Main dealer history – nine stamps to 40,388 miles
  • Supplied new by Stratstone Aston Martin of Derby previous owner
  • Four owners from new
  • 2 owners in same family
  • One owner has never even driven the car so has been used as occasional car for 3 owners only
  • Original owner’s manual
  • UK V5C
  • New 12 month MOT valid until 13th December 2023 (inspected on 14.11.2022)
  • Collection of old MOTs
  • Factory PDI inspection plate

THE INTERIOR

  • Unusual Baltic Blue leather
  • Titanium and carbon fibre trim highlights
  • Excellent condition throughout

Open the door and the first thing you notice is the unusual Baltic Blue leather – a pale blueish grey trim line that was a special order and adds a subtle flash of flair to the DB9’s restrained nature. It’s quite sophisticated for a near-supercar, too, with rich, high-quality leather and materials.
This one has the more modern-looking carbon-fibre effect trim line, while the specification is excellent - climate control, sat nav, multi-adjustable electric seats, hand-finished stitching. There aren’t many cars with this kind of performance that can also deliver such opulence.
Condition-wise, it’s very good. There are a couple of small marks to the leather of the rear seat and a very small amount of wear to the driver’s side seat bolster, plus some tiny marks to the trim around the door handles, but nothing at all that stands out.

THE EXTERIOR

  • Stunning Tungsten Silver Metallic
  • 19-inch alloys with Bridgestone Potenza tyres
  • Superb panels and paintwork

The Aston presents extremely well indeed in its subtle Tungsten Grey paint, with all of its original paintwork and trim. It’s a great-looking car in excellent overall condition, with no evidence of any damage and only a few minor marks – a couple of small touched-in stonechips to the front and some tiny chips and swirl marks around the door handles but nothing that detracts from its appearance at all.
The alloy wheels are in generally good order but there are a few very slight kerb marks that a new owner may wish to get sorted.
The car has always been stored in a garage and has been regularly valeted throughout its life.

THE MECHANICS

  • 6.0-litre V12
  • Automatic transmission with paddle-operated manual shift
  • Well-maintained
  • Drives without fault

Powered by a Ford-developed V12 that’s essentially two 3.0 V6s compounded, the DB9’s performance is in true supercar territory. Quite apart from that beguiling soundtrack (and nothing sounds as good as 12 cylinders on full chat), it’s a rapid car with a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 186mph.
The vendor reports that it runs without fault and is a joy to drive, while it engages all gears as it ought to. It has been well-maintained and is sold with no known issues.

SUMMARY

Finished in a fabulous colour and with a very rare interior, this is a special DB9 and is in great overall condition. It’s in very good overall order, drives well and is ready to be thoroughly enjoyed by its next owner.
