Highlights
- Top-spec 939 Spider
- Q4 four-wheel-drive
- Superb performance and equipment levels
- Very good overall condition
The Appeal
With a production run of only four years, the Alfa Romeo Spider Type 939 is one of the company’s lowest volume mainstream models, with just 12,400 produced between 2006 and 2010.
The Spider was essentially a soft-top version of the Giugiaro-styled Brera coupé and was built on Alfa Romeo’s behalf by Pininfarina in Turin, making it an anomaly in itself – designed by one of the big Italian styling houses, but manufactured by their main rival.
This one is a lovely car in the absolute best specification, powered by the 3.2-litre V6 JTS 24v quad cam engine that really makes premium Alfa Romeo models sing, with the company’s Q4 four-wheel-drive system and a six-speed manual gearbox. It is, in essence, a real driver’s car.
Finished in beautiful Misano Blue, it’s a stunning example in great overall condition, and a modern classic with huge amounts of character.
