The Appeal
After years of underfunding, Alfa Romeo was finally able to stretch its wings once more with the Brera. Based upon the celebrated 159 platform and styled (exquisitely) by Giorgietto Giugiaro, the Brera had an air of quality and sophistication that many argued had been missing from Alfa for some time.
Alongside the stunning Coupé, Pininfarina manufactured an equally gorgeous Spider variant at their plant in Turin. Just 12,400 were produced between 2006 and 2010, making the 939 Spider one of Alfa’s lowest volume mainstream models.
This 2007 example is in the best specification, with a 3.2-litre 24v quad-cam V6 mated to an all-wheel drive system via a six-speed manual gearbox. Finished in beautiful Misano Blue, it’s a stunning example and benefits from a recent alloy wheel refurbishment and some paint rectification. There cars are now considered modern classics and the rarity of this high-spec example is sure to have a strong appeal to Alfisti the world over.
