The Appeal
Ask us to name the four-wheeled accompaniment to "La Dolce Vita" and the answer has to be the Alfa Romeo Spider. Consistently stylish since the first Tipo 101 Giulietta Spiders of the 1950s, these Pininfarina-penned open-topped sports cars have captured the hearts of generations of enthusiasts for nigh-on seven decades.
Launched in 2005, the Brera Spider was particularly accomplished, not only for its looks but also for the its excellent chassis. Sometimes hailed "Alfa's German car", the Brera, was reliable, well-put-together and user-friendly to an extent Alfisti had seldom seen from the Milanese firm. That makes them a compelling modern classic, so we're delighted to bring to market this beautifully presented 2007 example.
It's the desirable and practical 2.2-litre JTS model, offering a well-executed balance between usable performance and fuel economy. It benefits from significant recent investment, a strong service history and still has under 70,000 miles on the odometer. The Spider recently passed its MOT so is ready to go to its next custodian.
Now the British summer has deigned to make an appearance, what better way to enjoy it than in this sublime soft top?
