The Background
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class, formerly known as Sonderklasse (German for "special class", abbreviated as "S-Klasse"), is a series of full-size luxury sedans, limousines and armored sedans produced by the German automaker Mercedes-Benz, a division of German company Daimler AG. The S-Class is the designation for top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz models and was officially introduced in 1972 with the W116, and has remained in use ever since. The S-Class is the flagship vehicle for Mercedes-Benz.
The all-new W221 was introduced in the autumn of 2005 at the Frankfurt International Motor Show, with sales starting in autumn of 2005 and export to other markets beginning in 2006. Again there was a big change in design. The W221 S-Class made its North American premiere at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in January.
The W221 is slightly larger in all dimensions than its predecessor, and it features three newly developed engines with up to 26% power increase. The interior is completely new, all materials have been upgraded and make for a more luxurious ride, and the centre console transmission gear lever has been replaced with a column-mounted shifter. New technological features on the W221 include an infrared Night View Assist feature and the latest Mercedes-Benz pre-collision system.
The W221 features sharper exterior styling (most notably wide fender arcs) and technological improvements. The W221 is the second consecutive generation of the S-Class to be solely produced in a sedan body style.

The Paperwork
We have been told that the car has a full main-dealer service history with a Main Dealer with lots of receipts and latterly at a specialist.
The Interior
The Interior, according to the pictures and what we are told looks in very good condition, regardless of the mileage. There are lots of little differences dotted around the car, reminding you of the fantastic V12 engine that lies beneath the bonnet. The leather seats look incredibly comfortable and the massage seats look like they will keep you relaxed.
We’re told that there is no wear or discolouration and doesn't look as though it’s been recoloured. The car has been described as Outstanding throughout and going by the pictures it certainly looks like it. There are so many options fitted to this, already very high specification car, some of which is detailed below;

The Exterior
The alloy wheels, we are told, have been freshly diamond cut at a great expense. This was completed by Rader International, who are a very highly regarded wheel refurbishment company.
Going by the images and the description that the customer has provided, cosmetically, the car looks fantastic. The car looks like it has similarities to the outstanding Maybach, and the colour certainly helps with the executive look.

The Mechanics
The suspension is a big-ticket item on these cars. It has ABC hydraulics NOT the Airmatic as fitted to lesser S-Classes. Our client has carried out some recent work, including fitting a brand-new pump, valve block and all pressure accumulators including a new filter and double fluid flush. This was a £5000 job and only completed 100 miles ago.
It does apparently have the later type coil packs and voltage converter fitted, which are more reliable than the earlier versions. We’re told that there are no warning lights, no errors, leaks, or problems. Everything works and is described as “hilariously powerful for the size of vehicle”.
Another huge plus of this vehicle is that the client will be putting a brand new MOT on the car and ANY advisories that is noted shall be completed before the sale of the car, ready for the new owner.

The Appeal
These cars are very subtle, stylish, sleek and an “ordinary” looking executive car, to the untrained eye, which may contribute to their appeal. However, what lies underneath the long, dominating bonnet lies a beating heart, that, if required, can make this, very large, comfortable executive car, keep up with a lot of out and out modern sports cars.
However, the joys of this luxury car is that, you can also be driven in complete luxury and comfort, while watching your favourite DVD or TV program, while you recline in the rear heated/cooling leather seats. This car really was packed full of everything you could ask for (and more) in a luxury car. Once new, the price certainly reflected the incredible specifications, but now, you have the chance to own one that would rival nearly anything on the road when it comes to specification. It has been likened to the incredible Maybach, which as you may know, is regarded as one of the best luxury cars in the world.
