The Appeal
It’s been said many times, but bears repeating because it rings so true: the L322 is really the only vehicle you ever need. Offroad, onroad, tooling around town or tootling across Europe, this is the luxury SUV whose brilliance even Harry Metcalfe and Jeremy Clarkson agree on.
The TD6 got BMW’s well-regarded turbodiesel 6-cylinder engine. With 180bhp and decent economy, it is a wise choice for these big vehicles. This TD6 is a high-specification Vogue model finished in the popular combination of steel grey metallic with cream leather interior.
It is a very well-kept example that had just five keepers from new. They have preserved the condition - the front passenger seat and rear bench look barely used - and kept the servicing up to date. The book shows a run of 17 service stamps, and the vendor tells us that the gearbox fluid and filter have also been changed regularly, ensuring the 5spd unit changes smoothly and correctly.
Recent work has included new discs and pads and a replacement battery. The MOT adds further reassurance because it runs to August 2025. This is a very good example of a highly regarded luxury workhorse.
The vendor writes:
“The Range Rover is a joy to drive, there are no issues evident to detract from the driving experience.
“I bought the car specifically to deal with a wood chip access road which led to my former property. This was extremely soft and sometimes flooded from an adjacent river. It coped with that scenario admirably. Since then it helped me immeasurably as I moved home over several hundred miles. Now I'm in a position where a vehicle of this size and immense capabilities is no longer required in my life.”
