The Appeal
Caterham set itself an unenviable task, to improve a car that many already saw as perfect. The original Lotus Seven was simple, nimble and light which meant it drove brilliantly.
Making that better has been Caterham’s focused aim ever since. And they have certainly succeeded, the plethora of models literally catering for the wide range of enthusiasts of these four wheeled motorbikes.
Desirable as those supercar-bating versions are, perhaps it is cars like this 1600cc Super Seven that best capture the Seven’s spirit. It retains all the qualities of the original but with a little more power and comfort for modern roads. This very low mileage example is in very good condition which is confirmed by its run of advisory-free MOTs back to 2011. There is a good history file and long MOT to seal the deal.
