2006 Bentley Azure

Highlights

  • Very low mileage early Azure
  • One of only 131 RHD cars
  • Same family owned since 2016
  • MOT to February 2025 with no advisories
  • Well presented in desirable colour scheme
  • FSH with service in February 2024 by Bentley Hampshire

The Appeal

The second generation Azure was the final hurrah for a very particular type of ultra luxurious, exquisitely hand-built Bentley. At over £260,000 when new, perhaps it is no surprise that just 131 buyers had pockets deep enough to purchase RHD models.
That quality and rarity make these cars very sought after. This one is magnificent, beautifully finished in popular Flying Fountain Blue metallic with a two-tone dark blue and cream interior. It is is virtually showroom-fresh condition thanks to the very low mileage and evident care of its owners. It has been in the same family since 2016 and comes with full service history.
The MOT history reflects these themes with barely any advisories throughout its life and those that there are being very minor. The current test runs to February 2025 with no advisories and it has just been fully serviced by Bentley Hampshire.
Opportunities to acquire the ultimate evocation of Bentley’s hand-built era do not come along often. And this low mileage, highly cared for car is one of the best.

The History and Paperwork

  • First registered 26th October 2006
  • Seven registered keepers from new
  • Several of these changes have been within the same family since 2016
  • Acquired by the seller from a family member on 13th May 2021
  • Stamped service book
  • MOT history verifies the low mileage
  • Very good MOT history with very few advisories, all minor
  • 716 second generation Azures were built, of which 131 were RHD like this one
  • MOT to 15th February 2025 with no advisories and 30,624 miles showing on test
  • Full service history with 10 stamps by Bentley and specialists
  • Recent service by Bentley Hampshire in February 2024

The Condition

  • Beautiful Flying Fountain Blue metallic paintwork
  • Dark blue electric roof in unmarked condition
  • Unmarked condition inside and out reflecting low mileage
  • Factory Azure specification 19in alloys unmarked
  • Underside with no issues to report and no structural MOT advisories
  • Unmarked hand-crafted interior with two-tone blue and cream finish
  • Two-tone dashboard and steering wheel
  • Cream leather interior with no visible wear
  • Smart burr walnut veneers
  • Original factory radio system with remote control
  • Navigation with pop-up display
Beneath the sleek Azure hand-crafted lines lies the modern architecture of the contemporary Arnage saloon. The result is a handsome four seater convertible with very modern ride and handling qualities.
The car looks particularly good in the Flying Fountain Blue metallic of this car with its complementary two-tone blue and cream interior. The quality is exemplary, from the hand-tooled veneers to the high end leathers. Throughout it is in excellent order, reflecting the low mileage.

The Mechanics

  • 6,761cc Bentley hand-built twin turbo V8 engine developing 445bhp
  • 6spd automatic gearbox with centre console shifter
  • 0-60mph in 5.6secs
Contemporary reviewers were wowed by the styling and quality of the Azure but bowled over by the performance. Beneath the bonnet is the firm’s venerable hand-built V8, equipped with a pair of big turbos to lift power to 445bhp. The result is performance best described as ‘scintillating.’
Clearly this car has not been driven that way, the condition reflecting the relaxed, sedate progress for which this car is clearly intended. It has been maintained to a high standard, which is confirmed by the run of clean MOT passes. There are barely any advisories through the history.
The car comes to market with a long, advisory-free MOT to February 2025 and is said to run and drive superbly.
