The Appeal

Aston Martin first teased us with the Vantage at the 2003 North American International Auto Show, leading to a production launch two years later of a car that looked pretty much the same.

Not that it was a bad thing – the V8 Vantage was an astonishingly pretty car, penned by Danish-American designer Henrik Fisker and brought to production with barely a visual change.

It was launched with a new 4.3-litre V8 engine developing 385bhp, offering a 0-60mph sprint time of 4.9 seconds and a top speed in excess of 180mph.

Today, they’re up and coming modern classics, with the convenience of feeling fresh and modern to drive, but with the classic cachet of the Aston Martin brand.

This one is a collector’s quality car, a 4.3 V8 manual Coupe that has covered just over 45,500 miles from new with a fully documented service record, all carried out by Aston Martin main dealers and freshly serviced and issued with a new MOT by Aston Martin Brentwood in May 2024.

The vendor has had the car for the past eight years and fulfilled a dream by owning it, but with another older classic and horses to look after, it’s no longer getting the use it deserves, so he is reluctantly letting it go.

If you’re in the market for a Vantage of this vintage then this one is very hard to ignore, as it’s a superb, low mileage example that has been properly cared for throughout its life. It’s a genuine car that has been well loved throughout its life.

The Condition

  • Stunning Midnight Blue Pearl
  • Superb order throughout
  • Powder-coated satin graphite 19-inch alloys, one tiny mark
  • Bodywork is almost flawless with a deep lustre and only some very minor marks and chips
  • Gorgeous Caspian Blue leather
  • Extensive equipment levels
  • Excellent condition
  • Sat Nav and Bluetooth
Finished in the wonderful shade of Midnight Blue Pearl, the Vantage is very smartly presented and sits on a set of superb seven-spoke alloy wheels, refurbished at vendor’s request to a satin graphite colour, offset by sporty grey brake callipers and with only very small scuff.

There are no dents and only a couple of tiny, superficial marks, none of which is immediately noticeable. It has paint protection stone deflectors fitted to the front and some very minor road rash in front of the rear wheels. The glass is flawless and the underside and sills appear perfect.

Inside, the Aston feels pretty special, with heated, electrically adjustable Caspian Blue leather sports seats, contrasting blue carpets and its original Bluetooth-compatible stereo and climate control console. The suede headlining is a lovely feature, finished in factory Taylor’s Grey, while the vendor had the steering wheel and gear lever covered in matching Alcantara by personal commission. Everything works as it should and the condition is superb throughout.

Similarly, the boot is clean and well-presented and the original tools are present, while the car contains a plaque stating that it was hand-built in England and had its final inspection by Aston-Martin employee Mick Freeman.

The leather door cards and dash rolls are also in fine order.

The Mechanics

  • 4.3-litre V8
  • Six-speed manual
  • Recently serviced by Aston Martin main dealer
  • Larini sports cats
  • Switchable exhaust valves
Under the bonnet is a 385bhp 4.3-litre V8 engine of Aston Martin’s own design.  It’s devilishly quick and sounds amazing, while this one has the added advantage of six-speed manual transmission for the full, immersive experience, enhanced by wonderful-sounding Larini sports catalytic converters with remotely switchable exhaust valves to amplify the soundtrack should you wish. It’s addictive stuff!

According to the vendor it drives incredibly well with no issues whatsoever, and is fast, responsive and refined at cruising speeds. The low mileage should add further peace of mind, especially as the car has always been maintained by Aston Martin main dealers and has been freshly serviced. The vendor also has the video of the dealer health check, which he is happy to share with the buyer.
